Final Cub, Scout, Guide Brownie
Meeting—Farewell to the Reids.
On Friday evening, May 25th the
iScoute, Guides and Brownies
held their ;final meeting of the spring
season in a joint get-to-gether which
was attended by anany of the parents
A. ceremonial flag -'break with all
roups in 'horseshoe formation started
the evening off. The Cub Pack then
presented the "Dance of Kea" the
python. The dance .was expiamea by
A.S.M. Jim Reid who acted as Mas-
ter -of -Ceremonies. After the Brownie
Pack had entertained the gathering
with their narration of "A Lion Hunt'
a few songs, Brown Owl Norma Park-
ins took charge of a "Fly -up cerem-
onyin which Brownies Eleanor
Prang and Sharon Block went up
from Brownies to Guides. In her
remarks later, Miss !Seigner, Dist.
Guide .Commissioner, highly .com-
mended the 'Brownie leaders and
those girls for bhe splendid work
they had done. She explained that
usually a :Brownie must be a member
for two years to qualify fortheir
wings, but that sinethe Zurich
Pack had not been organized that
long and lllie girls had compreted all
other requirements, special permis-
sion had been granted by headquar-
ters to allow these two girls their
wings.
Mrs. Ed. Gascho on behalf of the
Mothers' auxiliary, presented the
boys .with a new 10'x12' tent to
encourage outdoor Scouting. Slit
urged that more fathers are needed
on the ,Group .Committee if the boys
are to get the best out of their pro-
gram. Later everyone inspected the
tent which had been set up in the
arena. .Scouter Reg. Black thanked
the ladies, • .assering them that the

to express appreciation to all far the
splendid- co-operation in support of
scouting and- 'Guiding. He said they
felt theyhad made smile:fasting fri-

that these friends would lead the
youth groups on to even greater suc-
cess with their sontinued. support.

Because of his good wosis and lead-
ership, qualities, Scout :Eugene
Brien was installed as the troop's
first Troop Leader. Eugene and Don
Sasebo were presented with bronze
Arrows earned at a Leadership train -
tag course at R.C.A.F.„. 'Centralia,
earlier this spring. Scouts Louis Wil -
1e -rt . and Kenneth Weida, had been
presented with theirs at the "Scouts
Own" at Godestich on jetie- s'Oth.
The Guides then entertained with
novelty songs ; Guides .Marton. Yung-
lidut and Judy Willert. explained: the
requirements for the Second Class
