Mrs. Earl Heywood and family, of Wingham were holiday visitors with her parents, Mr and Mrs. Wm. 'Thiel. Mr. John Gillman has returned home from the London Hospital and is improving nicely in health, Miss Pearl Wurtz is spending a few weeks at the home of her sister, Dr. and Mrs. H. H. Cowen, at Exeter Mrs. Anne 1Sauve spent a pleasant holiday for a feW days with her re- latives at Toronto. Pleased to report that Mr. Gideon Koehler is progressing -nicely after his illness. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery. Mr and Mrs Win. Lawrence and family spent a few days last week, visiting relatives and friends at Guelph. Mr and Mrs. H. D. Geiger, of Sebewaing, Mich., visited over the week -end with the former.''s cousin, Mrs. and Mr. Chris. Heist. ,Mrs. M. MacKinnon and Mrs. R. Russell of Exeter, were guests with Dr. Archie and ,Mrs. MacKinnon at Galt during the Easter.' Holiday. Master Laird and Nancy Thiel of London, who spent the Easter holi- days at the home of Leui Thiel, also other relatives, have returned home. Mrs. Chris, Schrag of the Zurich vicinity is pleasantly spending some time at the home of her son, Rev. and Mrs. Gordon Schrag, at Lowville, N. Y. Mrs. Henry Walper and daughter Mrs. Herb desjardine and Mrs. Elroy Desjardine and children, spent a day last week at the hone of the for- mer's sister, Mr and Mrs. Ed. Wil- helm at Stratford. Mr and M!rs. Svend Ross of De- troit called on Zurich frtenes in town Friday. They spent a pleasant week -end at the home of the latter's mother, Mrs. Joseph Rau of Drys- dale, and also attended the Regier wedding at Seaforth.. BUYS NEW FIRE TRUCK The Police .Village of Dashwood has purchased a $10,500 fire truck. Delivery of which is expected about May 24th. The new truck Js being built by a Stratford firm, will carry two reels with a capacity of 1500 feet of hose with two fog guns, a 400 gallon tank, machanosm for both hydrant and well• hookup and a portable pump. The truck will be able to pump 600 gallons or water a minute. The new unit will .reptace a 10 -year-old truck which has broken down. Vallie L. Becker is chief of the fire brigade which has 14 memb- ers. Other members of the commit- tee are Harold Weber and Jim Hay- ter. The Poice Village will raise $7,500 of the cost of the truer thro- ugh debentures issued mby the Town- ship of Stephen. The Village has built up a reserve to cover the bal- ance of the $10,500. Water Highway near Drysdale. Mr. Denomme, 71, was re- leased from Hospital after treatment of minor injuries. His wife, suffered a fractured wrist and severe Lacer- ations, was kept in hospital. Mr. Denomme apparently turned out to pass another car at the entrance to a private driveway when he and a neighbor, Charles Rau, crashed head on, with resulting in $400 estimated. damage to both car.
