ham the past week attending the
funeral of the hate Isaac Wambold,
a former resident of this district.

Petitions are 'being circulated in
six townships in the County in hopes
of inaugurating a Calfhood Vaccin-
ation (Program. Meetings held to date
in the County to explain the Brucel-
losis Control Act have been well at-
tended .and in all cases those at-
tending the meetings were much in
favour of the "Calfhood Vaccination
Program", All. Agricultural Societies
were represented at a meeting this
past week and Fall Fair Dates were
set for Fairs in the County.
Had Birthday Party
On Friday evening neighbours and
friends met at the home of Mrs. Ger-
trude Datars, Zurich in honor of Mrs
Albert Bedour's 'birthday, her next
door neighbour A joval time was
enjoyed by playing games and social
chats. Prizes won by Mr and Mrs.
Albert Bedour; Mrs. Whitney Brok
enshire and son Allan. As luncheon
was served all•joined in song "Happy
Birthday" and a beautiful decorated
birthday cake was placed before Mrs
Albert Bedour, along with a Rogers
Silver plate with glass centre, " pres-
ented by all present. It was at this
time when Mrs. Bedour .first realized
that•the evening was arranged in her
honor.. This elevated the spirit of the
evening oto_ much fun, and laughter.
Mrs. ,Bedour replied with many
hearty thanks for their kind thought-
fulness, and to Mrs. Datars and all
who assisted her 'to make the event
such a grand success. Over the we-
ek -end the children from the Bedour
family visited their parents in honor
of the mother's birthday: Mr and Mrs
Gordon Bedour, Mr and Mrs. Ernie
Fisher, Mr and Mrs Radolph Bedour
and families 'of Goderich; ,tr and
Mrs. Adrien Denom,me, Mr and Mrs
Lawrence Brisson, ,Mr and 'Mrs Leo
Meidin•ger and families of Zurich, all
helped to celebrate this grand occas-
ion With their presents, along with
best wishes for many more happy

DIED AT HENSALL
Fred ,Snnallacombe, 80, who died
at the Consitt Nursing• Home Hensall,
on Feb. .i5, had lived there most .of
his life. Born at Exeter and when
he came to Hensall as a small boy',
he saw the old Huron and Bruce
Railway -•hen it first went through in
1875, and was so terrified when he
saw the train that,he ran and hid. In
municipal life he served as reeve and
councillor for several terms. Active
in the Conservative party, and a me-
mber of the various Lodges Conduct-
ed a restaurant business, ana strated
the onion business for Steere Briggs
and was in charge for many years.
Mr and Mrs Smallacombe celebrated
their golden wedding in December
19149. She died in 1950. .Surviving
are one son Fred, Guelph; two dau-
gthters Mrs: E. Normington and Mrs.
C. Father, Hensall, a brother Garnet,
Guelph, and a sister at Windsor. The
remains rested at the Bonthron Fun-
eral home, Hensall, where services
were held Wednesday afternoon 18th
with the Rev. W. J. Rogers officiating
Interment was in Hensall Union Cem-
etery.
