2, Dashwood who died in Alexander

was the former Sylvia Seguss of
Ashfield Township. She was a memb-
er of Clinton Baptist church. Sury
iving besides her husband are one
daughter, Slvirley,.'a teacher at Clin•
ton; one 'brother in Halifax. and two
sisters:. The funeral took .place' on
Satuaday at .2 p.nr. from the ° Hoft
man funeral home. Rev. J. E. O.srroni

terment in Grand Bend cemetery.
Ardent Sport 'Fan Passes
Tragedy struck this peaceiui vil-
lage of .Dashwood on Saturday after-
noon :in a two -car crash which re-
sulted in the death of Milton Ratz,
of Shipka in his 61st year, at the
South. Huron .Hospital, Sunday, Feb.
14th. • An ardent sports fan, he and
his family had followed the O.B.A-
champion ball team from Dashwood
to all the places they played tnclnd-
ing Teeswater and Milton, urgin•
them on to victory.
Mr. Ratz operated the chopping
mill at •Shipka. He was a member of
S;hipkti United Church. Survi'nhg
are his wife, the former Acta Fassol!i
one son Jack, two sisters, Mrs. Mat-
hew Sweitzer, Grand Bend, ai,""d
Mrs. Crawford McPherson, Parkhill,
and two `brothers, Roy and William,
of Stephen Township. .
The body rested at the Hoffman
funeral how's Da,~hwood until Wed-
nesday morning, then at Shipk:r. Un-
ited Church, where services were
conducted by Rev. W. Parrott. Bur-
sal /was in Crediton cemetery.
Late Mrs. E. Witzel
Mrs, Elizabeth Witzel, 90, a life-
lon,g resident of Dashwood, died on
February 13th at the home of her
son Sam. in Toronto. She was one of
the oldest members of the Dashwood
Evangelical Church. Surviving are 2
sons, J. M. 'Witzel of California and
S. W. Witzel, Toronto; four daugh-
ters, Mrs. Burns, Pt. Huron ; Mrs. A.
White, Detroit; Mrs. J. Walsh, Sask-
atoon; three sisters and two brothers
Her maiden name was Elizabeth Sie-
bert. The body rested at the Hoffman
funeral horse till Tuesday noon when
it was transferred to the Evangelical
UB Ch'trch for service at 2 p.nt. by
the Rev. W. Krotz. Burial was made
in Zurich Evangelical Bronson line
Cemetery.
