It Was Cold!
The cold snap of the past two
weeks was keenly felt by all. It was
perhaps the coldest wite.ssed in some
years, as there was no snow on the
ground as a cold air collector, it
made it all the more colder. Already
some have predicted a broken win-
ter from now on till the later part of
March, froan where we will have the
remaining of the winter the bitterest
of many years apart. Let is wait and
see what the ground hog has to say
and from then on we wil be open to I
make any. kind of guess.
Commenting on the past two weeks *
the present and the future, we are +
'indeed lucky, for we missed out on *
!many happenings that are not too +
pleasing, to ;many other parts of the 3.•
country; apart from this westerly +
part of Ontario, citizens have suffer- *
ed from bitter cold. The coldest in a +
decade, they had to contena with 1:
high drifts of snow, and the saddest +
part the loss of life. We who are .T
more fortunate, lee us hope the next 1.
few weeks will not be any worse ....v.... -
than the past ones.
That we will miss out on any
phenoineon that would be destructive
to property or detrimental to life.
We have been protected from wind
storms and as well .other puffs, who
could in an instant leave us homeress
and as well peniless. Anyway there
is nothing we can do about it. Al-
ready science has taken a cast grip
in nature, bringing by degrees these
cold northern countries similar to
the south. They have .alreaay pre-
dicted tbat in. less than three decades
