Miss Elaine Grainger act- ed as pianist. After the singing of a hymn, Miss Elizabeth Finlay read the Scripture lesson, and Miss .Catherine Rader led in pray- er. Elaine Grainger read a poem. Mary Finlay gave the topic, en- titled, "Overcoming evil with good." We live in a world that is a global community. It, is no longer, "Around the world in 80 days." Three B -52s did it in slightly more than 45 hours. With nuclear warheads in our missiles and hydrogen bombs in our planes, we are in a position to touch off a war that could bring most of the houses in our world commun- ity tumbling down upon our heads. We should work to make our nation Christian in the correct sense of the term. We must first admit part of the guilt that has locked us in the cold war. We should pray to God for forgiveness for our nation and for the other nations of the warld. Christians must supoprt priv- ate programs giving aid overseas. Some of us may be called to go overseas as missionaries. God has blessed Canada with wealth and the chance to give real service to the world. We can grate- fully thank God for His gifts and work with Him for world peace by overcoming evil with good." The president, Elizabeth Fin- lay, took charge of the business. The meeting closed with the Miz- pah Benediction.
