If a tire is too small for a certain kind of soil—say sandy loam ---it spins under heavy loads and mightn't clean itself. Result: lost traction. Wheel weights will correct the situation but the engineers argue that "It is neither desirable nor economical to pull around more weight than necessary," and sug- gest you get in touch with your dealer if you feel you're overload- ing your wheels. Here are eight ways you can make your tires do a better and longer jab for you; Inflate them to the correct air pressure (consult your tractor ma- nual). The following rules are a guide. They feel that auction selling would prevent their Co-operative from using skilled salesmen and market knowledge, and thus deprive them of "a long sought after bargain in equality". The Hog Producers hint at a possible broadening of their pre- sent operation to include slaught- ering, preliminary processing and storing, which they feel is entire- ly in accord "with the spirit of enabling legislation". minimum inflation pressure •of 12 pounds and a pressure of four ex- tra pounds in the furrow wheel while plowing. Keep tires covered or in the shed when you're not working the tractor. Sunlight can damage tir- es, After using a tractor for spray- ing work, wash off any chemicals that may have dropped on the tir- es. Increase the pressure in the furrow wheel by four pounds when the tractor operates on a tilt, as with a disc or moldboard. Adjust the plow hitch laterally to keep the tire from crowding the fur- row wall. Repair tread or side-wall cuts immediately. This prevents spread- ing of the cuts and seals out dirt and moisture. Jack up the tires to take the weight off them for winter stor- age. -" Keep speeds down when there's danger of hitting frozen ruts or stones. The force of the hit can cause bruises or impact breaks. Wipe oil or grease off tires im- mediately after you notice it. 0 Friday, October 23 at 12.30 p.m. sharp Real Estate: Consists of Lot 14, Concession 14, Hay Township, 160 - acre farm on which is situated a large bank barn with good stabling throughout.
