Zurich Juveniles Lose Both Games
To Wilton Grove In Final Series
The Zurich Lions Juveniles
bowed out of the OBA Juvenile
playoffs last Wednesday afternoon
when they lost an 11-6 decision
to Wilton Grove. They had pre-
viously lost the first game of the
series played in Zurich last Satur-
day by a score of 14-7.
Getting off to a flying start in
the first inning, the Wilton Grove
team pushed across four runs, ad-
ded another in the third, three
more in the fifth, two in the sev-
enth, and one in the eighth. Zu-
rich scored a single run in the
third, and rallied for five more in
the seventh.
Earl Wagner had a big day at
the plate for the locals, as lie
banged out four hits for four
times at bat. Lary Bedard chipp-
ed in with two singles, and Bryan
Geoffrey added the extra hit, a
single in the seventh.
Wilton Grove jumped on the
Zurich pitchers for a grand total
of 17 base hits. As in the first
Rally Day was observed in the 800 At School
Hensall United Church, on. Sun-
day morning, September 20, with
the Sunday School scholars and
their teachers occupying the sea-
ts in the church auditorium.
The theme of the service, in
charge of Mr. Clem Christie, Sun-
day School superintendent, cen-
tered around "Children sing a-
round the world." Scripture pas-
sages were read by Gregory Sp-
encer and stories were told by
Sharon Skidmore and Steve Kyle.
The Junior Choir occupied the
choir seats and for their selection
sang, "A bit of Sunshine". Suz-
anne Rannie favoured with a solo
"Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam",
with the choir joining in for the
chorus. Choir was under the dir-
ection of S. G. Rannie with Miss
Greta Laramie at the organ con -
sol.
