Did she need help??
Last Thursday a lady from
Windsor, so she said, was hitch-
hiking her way to North Bay,
and due to financial circumstan-
ces, she said, she was obliged on
her way to ask for aid in order
to reach her destination by bus
or other ways of transportation.
She said she was the mother
of five children ranging in age
from one year to 14, all boys.
From her baby bonus and moth-
er's allowance she said she board-
ed her children to North Bay,
where they will be in residence
with her mother.
Concerning this incident there
is much division in opinion, with
people along this highway. She
had a hard luck story to tell,
with the high rent for housing
and the high cost of living she
had decided to live with her
mother in the above mentioned
town. She was from St. Joseph
Parish in Windsor, and she said
her husband passed away in April
of 1958, from a heart attack.
The question in the mind of
many was, "Was she sincere or
was she one of these smart Tiz-
zies on the trail for lure sake."
In all, was the lady justified in
acting in the manner she did?
Are those who contributed to the
cause justified for their assistance
for what they did?
Yours truly believes that the
lady was 'of an honest character
and was contributing her time
and effort for the welfare of her
family, who are in need of moth-
erly care.
