friends in Zurich on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. H. Neucome, De-
troit, were visitors at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thiel and fam-
ily.
Mr. and Mrs, William Brown
and family visited on Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. John Brown in Zu-
rich.
Mrs. Beatrice Hess spent a few
days with her sister, Mrs. Gordon
Kaitting, at Dunlop, north of Gode-
rich.
Miss Marie Bedard, Detroit, is
spending a few weeks holidays
with relatives in the Zurich dis-
trict.
Mrs. Edna Oswald was a week-
end visitor with Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Finkbeiner and family at
Kippen.
Mr. and Mrs, John Oesch and
family, Pigeon, Michigan, were
weekend visitors with relatives in
Zurich.
Ken Weido, who is attending
summer school in Toronto, spent
the weekend with his family in
Zurich.
Mr. and Mrs, William Hess,
Woodstock, were weekend visitors
with the former's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Hess.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Dinnin and
Bill, and Allan Thiel spent a few
days last week at Pike's Bay, in
Northern Ontario.
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Fisher,
Detroit, were visitors for a few
days last week at the home of
Mrs. Edna Oswald.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Pointkowski,
Cleveland, Ohio, are spending some
time visiting with members of the

Mr, and Mrs. Donald Ilartman
and family, London, were Sunday
visitors with the latter's parents,
Mr. and Mrs, Ben McCann.
Miss Gloria Deitz and Miss Mar-
garet Wilson, London, were week-
end visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Milton Deitz and family.
Mr. and 14 Its, 'William O'Brien
Jr. and son Jimmy, Toronto, are
spending a couple of week's vaca-
tion at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Leroy O'Brien.
Mr. aria Mrs. Hubert Schilbe
were Sunday visitors in London.
with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schilbe
and family, where they held their
annual family picnic.
Mr, and Mrs. Chris Hoist were
Friday visitors at the home of the
former's daughter, Mr. and Mrs,
Gordon Kaitting at Dunlop, north
of Goderich,
Mrs. Harry Fuss has returned
to her home after vacationing with
relatives in Regina, Saskatchewan,
and other western centres. She
made the trip by plane.
Dr. and Mrs. Bruce Eickmeier
and Ronnie, Hamilton, were week-
end visitors at the home of the
former's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Eickmeier.
Miss Margaret Deichert, Kit-
chener, and Edward Deichert, Sar-
nia, were weekend visitors at the
home of their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Victor Deichert.
Mr. and Mrs. N. E. French,
Miss Mattie Oestreicher and Miss
Clara Oestreicher, all of Windsor,
visited with Mr. and Mrs, John
Brown over the weekend.
Mr. Herbert Black has return-
ed to his home in North Battle -
ford, Sask., after spending some
time with his nephew, Mr. and
Mrs. Reginald Black and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Morley Witmer,
Detroit, who visited with relatives
here for a time, were accompanied
by Mr, and Mrs. Earl Thiel on a
fishing trip to Pike's Bay, Bruce
Peninsula.

gathered at the home: of Mr. and
Mrs. Delbert Geiger, Zurich, on
Sunday, July 12.
Relatives attending were from
Hamilton, Kingsville, L on do n,
Blyth and Hensail. The young folk
spent the afternoon at the beach,
while the older members relaxed
on the spacious lawn. A smorgas-
bord supper was served,

To Attend 4-H
Leadership Week
Charles MacGregor, 19, RR 2,
Seaforth, has been selected to re-
present Huron County at the Pro-
vincial 4-H Cllub Leadership Week
to be held at the Ontario Agri-
cultural College, Guelph, July 27-
31, 1959. Charles has an outstand-
ing record in 4-H Club work and
has also taken part in many com-
munity activities. The program at
Guelph will include instruction on
various phases of agriculture as
well as recreation and fellowship.
In addition to this honour, Mr.
MacGregor is Huron County's
nominee for selection to attend the
National 4-H Club Week which
will be staged this November.

Some fall barley has been
swathed and combined, Fall wheat
is turning quickly and there likely
will be some cut and swathed this
week,
Haying operations are almost
complete. Corn and bean crops are
advancing slowly. Sugar beets ap-
pear to be growing well.
