At the last regular meeting of
the season for Zurich and District
Chamber of Commerce held in the
Dominion Hotel last Thursday
night, it was decided to hold a
special night for the Peewee hock-
ey team, on Thursday, July 2, at
Cedarbrook Park. At that time
the presentation of the Robin Hood

the Chamber are invited to attend.
The Chamber of Commerce will
again sponsor a Baby Show at the
Zurich Fall Fair this year. More
particulars will be decided at a
meeting of the executive of the
organization.
A discussion took place at the
meeting in regards to the work
which was supposed to have been
done at the hill at St. Joseph, by
the Townsip council. A delegation
of Charles Thiel, Albert Kalbfleis-
ch, and William Siebert was pick-
ed to attend the next meeting of
the Township council and see what
their plans are in this regards.
Several members of the council
were present at the meeting.

contact Charles MacNaughton,
MLA, for Huron, in connection
with having the edges of the
streets going through the village
sprayed with tar. The work was
apparently to have been done some
time ago, but was held up due to
drain work which was to have
been done.
Charles Thiel, .chairman of the
bingo committee reported that
$265 had beencleared from the
cash bingos which were held in
the Community Centre this past
spring. Besides raising this much
money for community betterment
the Chamber helped the arena out
considerably, giving them about
$200 in rental for the use of the
building.
Herb Turkheim and Earl Thiel
were appointed as a delegation to
approach the village trustees in re-
gards to their membership in the
Mid -Western Ontario Development
Association. The membership was

However, it was the feeling of the
Chamber of Commerce that there
is a certain amount of benefit to
be derived from belonging to the
association. Zurich and Clinton
are the only members from the
County of Huron which have drop-
ped out of the organization.
A guest at the meeting was Ed.
Kinsmen, St. Marys, a former
member of the staff of the local
Bank of Montreal.
Vice -resident Charles Thiel was
in charge of the meeting in the ab-
sence of president Milton Oesch.

welcomed by many.
