M. Aldis, Goderich. Of particular concern, however, have been many recent incidents in which humans were exposed to .rabies in smaller domestic animals —dogs, cats, and for the first time in the county, pigs! The advent of summer will swell the numbers of children who will be at play; and at the lake re- sorts, whole communities will a- gain burst into existence. To the other important safety reminders of this season, therefore, it is nec- essary to add caution about rabies. 1. Do keep your dog or cat on your own premises or under, your control at all times. 2. Be sure your pet has been vaccinated against rabies. ZURICH Citizens NEWS PAGE ELEVEN Beware of stray or sick ani- mals. 4. Caution children against han- dling dead animals they might find. 5. Report all suspected cases of animal rabies to your veterin- arian or the Health of Ani- mals office, Seaforth. 6. If a human should suffer in- jury by a possibly rabid ani- mal, promptly wash the wound or place of exposure with soap and water. Consult your physician. Notify the Health Unit, Goderich. Con- fine the animal under veter- inary supervision for at least 14 days. Avoid shooting or destroying such an animal if at all possible. 7.
