The late sown crops could do
with a good rain. There will be
a larger acreage of spring grain
and hay sprayed for weeds than
ever before:
Chairman of the Ladies Night

Don O'Brien Pitches Two lit Game
As Lumberkings Collect 13 Big Hits
A neat pitching chore turned in
by manager Don O'Brien, along
with some healthy hitting by the
entire club, gave the Zurich Lum-
berkings a convincing 10-0 victory
over the boys from St. Marys last
Wednesday night.
In the six innings he worked
O'Brien gave up only two hits, one
in the second and one in the fourth
inning. Juvenile pitcher Johnnie
Masse finished the last inning for
the locals, and retired the side in
order striking out two of the three
men he faced. O'Brien had struck
out eight in the six innings he
worked.
Bill Craig, Pete Masse and Don
O'Brien led the 13 -hit attack for
Zurich, each getting two hits in
three times at bat. Masse and
Craig both had triples and Don
O'Brien had a double.
Plenty of heavy hitting was
featured in the game for the locals,
as a double was had by Doug O'B-
rien, and a triple by John Wilson,
and a home run by Gerry Bell.
Danny Trushinski also added two
singles to the cause.
All the runs were divided over
four innings, two in the first, four
in the second, two in the third, and
six in the big sixth inning.
This past Friday night the Kings
were to have played in Goderich,
but word was received in the af-
ternoon that the Lakeporters had
folded up and dropped ou of the
league.
