SEE CANADA FIRST
For many years now, Canada
and Canadians have sufffered from
a severe inferiority complex. Our
American cousins tell us we and
our products are inferior and we
have been all too quick to agree
with them. It is with extreme
satisfaction that I see more and
more often, such slogans as "Can-
ada First" or "Buy Canadian".
It is from this view -point that
I say, "See Canada First," with
our page in the following weeks,
as I try to bring you brief descrip-
tions of some of Canada's beauty
spots. We have many local spots
of interest about which I would
like more information. If you
have articles or personal informa-
tion about any of the fol-
lowing places, I would ap-
preciate your passing it along to
me—Benmilier, Arkona's Rock
Glen, Fanshawe Dam, Spring
Bank, Story Book Gardens, Ham-
ilton's Rock Gardens, Goderich
Museum, Santa Claus Land, and
any other spot that that you have
found particularly attractive.
the citizens of North America. It
is everybody's material evidence
that one can live at peace with
our neighbours."

The Peace Garden
The International Peace Garden,
located on Manitoba highway 10,
at the international boundary, is a
"must" for anyone travelling that
way. It is an example of how
two countries can live at peace
and co-operate on a single project.
It is being developed partly by
$100,000 voted by the US govern-
ment and $15,000 voted by the
Canadian government, as well as
smaller amounts supplied by the
governments of North Dakota and
Manitoba.
In the last few years new drives
have been made, two nurseries op-
ened, three new picnic areas be-
gun and additional planting set
out. The waterworks system in
the garden has been extended and
the woodland along Lake Storman,
for about three quarters of a mile
has been cleaned up. This lake is
skirted by a three and a half mile
highway which winds up and down
hills and across valleys.
One of the most ardent support-
ers of the Garden is Mr. W. R.
Leslie, superintendent of the Mor-
den Experimental Station.
Mr. Leslie states that the Peace
Garden needs funds. "It will pros-
per," he says, "in proportion to
the contributions given it by the
general public. It belongs to all

'Teen Topics
The modern girl may not have
much experience in baking bread
but she's a champ at needing
dough.
Foundation Garments
Experts agree that a girl should
be fitted with a light but control-
ling girdle and bra, about the time
she reaches the age of 15, or soon-
er if she has definite figure pro-
blems. Girdles not only make
clothes fit more smoothly but im-
prove her posture.
For the sake of health and com-
fort a 'teen-age girl should not
wear foundation garments design-
ed for adult women. 'Teens have
more prominent bone structures
and less flesh than adults, and the
muscle tissue is developing so they
require garments styled in soft
fabrics and lightly boned.
The A.A. cup is designed for the
immature figure while the more
mature may require a B or C.
A. Add a few drops of oil of

used in cleaning clothes. This will

Q. How can I make poached eggs
hold together?
A. Add half a teaspoonful of
vinegar to poaching eggs, and it
will cause them to hold together.
This will have the same effect on
fish.
Q. How can I keep the colours
in chintzes from running?
A. An asprin added to the wat-
er in which chintzes and creton-
nes are to be laundered will pre-
vent the colours from running, and
even improve them.
Q. How can I make cleaning
fluid odourless?
When immature or developing the
youngsters requires gentle suport
to keep the breast tissues firm. The
more developed figure requires a
bra that gives definite support.
Care should be taken not to wear
a tight brassiere to make her ap-
pear smaller. This will break down
the tissue and cause the figure to
sag. Rather a carefully chosen
bra with. proper up lift is required.
Since there is a great deal of
difference between one junior gir-
dle and another, one should always
try the garment on to see if it
suits one's own particular figure
requirements.
deodorize it and tirely
any disagreeable odour from the
garment after the cleaning,
Q. How can I get rid of moths
in rugs?
A. If the rugs are sponged fre-
quently with hot water to which
a little turpentine has been added,
moths will not remain long in the
rugs. This treatment also bright-
ens the colours of the rugs.
