Zurich Women on South Huron
District Women's Institute Committees
Mrs. John McLean, RR 3, Sea -
forth, was elected president of the
South Huron District Women's In-
stitutes at their meeting last week.
Mrs. McLean is the chairman of
the Resolutions Committee and a
former president of the institute.
Election of district officers took
place at Grand Bend United
Church, with the district president,
Mrs. Emery Desjardine, presiding.
The morning session was taken
tip with the reports. The main
speaker was Mrs. Greer Hislop,
of Stratford, the provincial board
director. She also conducted the el-
ection of officers.
Other officers are: past presi-
dent, Mrs. Emery Desjardine,
Grand Bend; president, Mrs. John
McLean, Seaforth; vice-presidents,
Mrs. Harry Strang, Hensall; Mrs.
W. D. Mack, Crediton, secretary -
treasurer, Mrs. Gordon McKenzie,

Gordon Hicks, Exeter; Federated
representative, Mrs. Newell Gei-
ger, Zurich; alternate, Mrs. Ken-
neth Johns, Woodham; auditors,
Mrs. James McNaughton, Mrs.
James Drummond, Kippen; area
delegate, Mrs. Harold Thiel, Zu-
rich; alternate, Mrs. Leonard Erb,

The groom's uncle, the Rev. Bas-
il Sullivan, Saskatoon, Sask., of-
ficiated at the wedding ceremony
in St. Boniface Church, Zurich, on
Saturday morning, May 30, when
Marion Ethelina Regier, London,
exchanged vows with Patrick Al-
phonsus Sullivan, Dashwood. The
bride is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Edwin Regier, Zurich, and
the groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Patrick J. Sullivan, Dash-
wood.
Given in marriage by her par-
ents, the bride wore a floor -length
gown of embroidered Swiss organ-
dy with a bouffant skirt. The fitt-
ed bodice was styled with a scall-
oped scoop neckline and short
sleeves featuring embroidered mot-
ifs. Her silk illusion veil was held
by •a matching Mary Queen of
Scots headdress, trimmed with
seed pearls. She carried a cascade
of white and pink roses and trail-
ing ivy.
Miss Teresa Regier, maid of
honor, was gowned in mint green
swiss dotted organdy. The fitted
bodice was fashioned with a Sab-
rina neckline and puck -up sleev-
es. A high cummerbund topped
the full skirt and she wore a mat-
ching picture hat. Her flowers
were white shasta daisies, 'mums
and ivy. Bridesmaids were Miss
Mary Lou White, London, and
Miss Helen' Sullivan, Sarnia.
Groomsman was Jack Pearson,
Zurich, and ushering the guests
were Ray Ducharme and. Don Reg-
ier, both of Zurich.
A reception was held in Green
Forest Lodge at Grand Bend. The
bride's mother received in a beige
ensemble of silk organza with mint
green accessories and a corsage
of talisman roses. The groom's
mother assisted in sky blue with
white accessories.
For a wedding trip to New York
State, the bride donned a beige
brocaded sheath dress with a mat-
ching three-quarter length duster
and sage green accessories. The
couple will live in Dashwood.

by the District was "New Lamps
For Old". Over $6,000 was raised
by the nine branches during the
year, one branch having raised
$1,600 and another branch 1.,000.
Reports of the Guelph Conference
were presented by Mrs. Andrew
Dougall and Mrs, Harold WaIper,
Vineland Training School, and Mrs.
Harry Strang.
Hurondale branch gave a dem-
onstration, "Sew to save dollars
and make sense". A ladies quar-
tette, composed of Mrs. T. C,
Coates, Mrs. George Hess, Mrs.
T. J. Sherritt and Mrs. George
Armstrong, sang. Miss Greta
