Mother and Daughter Banquet
A mother and daughter banquet
sponsored by the Ladies Aid of
Zion Lutheran Church, was held
.Monday evening in the church
basement. Mrs. Lorne Becker, con-
vener, and her group were in
charge. •
Rev. K. L. Zorn was master of
ceremonies. A toast to the moth-
ers was proposed by Anne Koehler
and responded to by Mrs. Ken-
neth Keller. Mrs. Milfi ed Merner
and Margaret played a piano duet.
Joanne Martene sang a solo. A
singsong was enjoyed
A prize to the oldest mother
went to Mrs. Jacob Schroeder, who
had as her guest her daughter,
Mrs. Frieda Bauer, New Hamburg.
The youngest daughter, Debra
Lynn Zorn, was also presented
with a gift.
Following dinner bunco was
played. Winners were: Ladies Aid
member, Mrs. Reinhold Miller;
guest, Mrs, Hubert Miller; low,
Ladies Aid member, Mrs. Leon-
ard Restemayer; guest, Grace Kel-
ler.
Ladies Aid Meeting
The Ladies Aid of Zion Luther-
an Church met in the church base-
ment on Wednesday, May 13,
with 35 members and nine visit-
ors present. Pastor K. L. Zorn
was in charge of the topic, "Ch-
ristian Family Life".
The ladies were divided into
groups with question and answer
method, and group discussion. It
was decided to put the church
notice in the Grand Bend Holiday
during the summer months.
A strawberry and ham supper
is to be held on June 17. A room
in the parsonage is to be redec-
orated. The Sacristy of the church
is to be furnished with draperies.
Pastor and Mrs. Zorn were pre-
sented a. high chair for their dau-
ghter. The visiting committee is
to be re -named "Altar Guild", and
they are to be in charge of the
communion cups. Group I; with
Mrs. Lorne Becker as convener,
was in charge.
