Donna Catherine Oesch, only
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton
Oesch, Zurich, exchanged marriage
vows with Donald Leroy O'Brien,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy O'Brien,
Zurich, in a quiet ceremony at the
Evangelical United Brethren Chur-
ch, on Friday evening, May 1,
1959, at 7 p.m.
Rev. A. M. Amacher performed
the double ring ceremony.
The bride chose a street length
gown of white brocade with a
scoop neckline, three quarter leng-
th sleeves and a princess waistline.
A sequin and pearl embroidered
headdress held her elbow length
veil, and she carried white feath-
ered carnations and red roses.
Miss Judy Willert, Zurich, was
bridesmaid, and wore a street leng-
th dress of blue crystalette, and
matching headdress, and carried
shasta daisies.
William O'Brien, Toronto, was
his brother's groomsman.
The reception was held at the
Dominion Hotel, Zurich.
The bride is a graduate of Tor-
onto Teacher's College and is
teaching at USS No. 9, Hay and
Stanley, and the groom is a grad-
uate of London Teacher's College,
and is teaching at SS No. 12, Hay.
The couple will reside in Zurich.

MR. AND MRS. DONALD O'BRIEN were married in
the Evangelical United Brethren Church, Zurich, on Fri-
day, May 1, by the Rev. A. M. Amacher. The bride is
Donna Catherine, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton
Oesch, Zurich, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Leroy O'Brien, Zurich. The young couple will reside in

Guide Leaders
'Met at Heiisall.
(Ily our Hensall correspondent)
A meeting of the Iocal associa-
tion of Guiding was held Tuesday
evening, at the home of the presi-
dent Mrs. Thomas Lavender. The
treasurer, Mrs. Harvey Keys, re-
ported proceeds from the candy
sale amounted to $60.
Fifteen dollars was voted to the
Guide Camp at Keewaydin. Ten-
tative plans were made concerning
Guide and Brownie Camps.
A paper drive will take place
Saturday morning May 9, and res-
idents are asked to tie their old
papers in bundles and place them
in front of their homes.

Once again we are running short
of recipes for our column. Please
help us along by sending in your
favourite dishes,
CORN SOUFFLE
2 cups canned or fresh corn
2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon butter
2 eggs
1 cup milk
Pepper and salt to taste.
Add egg yolks beaten to milk and
flour. Beat whites of eggs stiff'
and add to above mixture. Add
corn and seasoning and place in
buttered casserole. Bake in oven
for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
OVEN FRENCH FRIED
POTATOES

' Cut peeled potatoes into 1/4" to
sticks. Place potatoes in a

shallow dish or pan.
Brush generously with melted
shortening or salad oil. Bake in a
moderate oven 350 degrees for
approximately one hour or until
golden brown. Turn occasionally.
When crisp, drain on .taper towel*
ling grand sprinkle with salt and
pepper.

JOHNNY CAKE
2 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sour milk
1 scant teaspoon soda
1 cup cornmeal
1%s cups flour and 2 teaspoons
baking powder
1/a teaspoon salt
Mix in order given and bake for
30 minutes at 375 degrees.
Sauce: Melt 2 tablespoons butter,
add 1/2 cup brown sugar ' and
caramelize, add 2 cups water, 1
teaspoon vinegar, salt, and vanilla.
Thicken with a little corn starch.

the Huron County Home (1954 addition only) will be
received by the undersigned until Friday noon, May 22,
1959.
Specification forms may be obtained at the office of the
undersigned, or from the County Home at Clinton.
Tenders are to be in sealed envelopes clearly marked
"Tender for Painting" and addressed to the undersigned.
Lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
