Minister, July 1

The Rev. Currie Winlaw, BA,
BD, of Jamestown, in northern
'Ontario, has accepted a call to
Hensall United Church, to become
effective on July 1, this year.
A graduate of Western Univers-
ity, he took his Theology in Em -
manual College, Toronto, and ser-
ved in World War Two. He is
married and has one child.
Rev. Charles D. Daniel, present
minister of Hensall United Chur-
ch, will retire to Ingersoll after
44 years in the ministery.

Mrs. K. Klashen, London, moth-
er of Dr. A. W. Klahsen, was guest
speaker at the annual birthday
party of the Women's Missionary
Society of Hensall United Church
last Friday evening, attended by
over 110 members and guests.
Mrs. Klahsen was born in India
of Missionary parents, educated in
Russia, left there during the rev-
olution, and came to Canada,
where here she met her husband
and they trained for missionary
work and together they went to
the Mission Fields of India where
they served 22 years.
Mrs. Klahsen chose for her
theme "Christian Witnessing," and
during her inspiring address she
mentioned several prominent peo-
ple in India and the influence their
lives had been. She compared
Christianity and Hinduism, and

concluded her message with a chaI-
lenge for witnessing for Christ at
every opportunity. The speaker
was introduced by Mrs, E. Rowe.
The church school room was at-
tractive with large baskets of var-
ied .colored 'mums, forsythia and
daffodils, while the walls and
lights were decorated in shades of
pink,
President Mrs. George Arm-
strong chaired the meeting and ex-
tended the welcome to the mem-
bers and guests which included the
WMS and Arnold Circle of Car-
mel Church, ladies of St. Paul's
Anglican church, Chiselhurst lad-
ies, and Evening Auxiliary.
The devotional "Jesus and the
Woman of Samaria," and "The
Living Waters" was ably taken by
Mrs. R. M. Peck.- Prayer was of-
fered by Mrs. C. D. Daniel. Num-
bers on the program included two
lovely vocal trios by Mrs. Beatrice
Hess, Zurich, and Mrs. William
Fuss and Mrs. George Hess, Hen-
sall. Mrs. R. H. Middleton was
the accompanist. Mrs. T. C. Coat -

es extended a vote of thanks to the
speaker and artists appearing on
the program.
Extending courtesy remarks
were Mrs. Russell Brock for Chis-
elhurst, Mrs. Middleton for St.
Paul's, Mrs. R. Y. McLaren for
Carmel WMS, Mrs. Stewart Bell,
Arnold Circle, Mrs. Douglas Cook
