Set Hunting Dates For Three Years
Hope To Help Hunters Plan Season
Ontario hunting seasons for
deer, moose and upland game
birds have been set for three en-
suing years, Hon. W. J. Spooner,
Minister of the Ontario Depart-
ment of Lands and Forests, an-
nounced recently to the Legislative
Committee on Fish and Game.
The dates for deer hunting for
1959, 1960 and 1961 are as follows:
In Rainy River District residents
and non-residents may hunt from
October 22 to November 25 in
1959 and 1960, from October 21 to
November 25 in 1961.
North of the northernmost CNR
line west from the Quebec boun-
dary to the Manitoba boundary,
including all of the Kenora Dis-
trict, residents and non-residents
may hunt from October 1 to Nov-
ember 25 in 1959 and 1960, from
September 30 to November 25 in
1961.
North of Lake Superior and
from the west boundary of Thun-
der Bay District to the Quebec
boundary, residents and non resi-
dents may hunt from October 15
1 November 25 in 1959 and 1960,

Oldest resident of Cavalier and
one of the oldest men in Pembina
county, Louis Well observed his
93rd birthday anniversary April 1
at an open house from 3 to 5 and
7 to 9 p.m..
Cards, gifts, telephone calls and
telegrams of congratulation came
to Mr Well. Since retiring, he
has made his home with relatives
and now resides with Mr. and Mrs.
Harold C. Well, in Cavalier.
A native of Zurich, Ontario, Mr.
Well was born April 1, 1866. He
went to the United States as a
young man and was in business
for many years.
Serving at the open house were
Mrs. Harold Well; her daughter,
Mrs. Neil Schluchter, and Mrs.
Gordon Well. The previous Sun-
day, Mr. Well was guest of honor
at a family dinner. Present were
William Well, Medina; James
Well, Janet Christopher, Fargo;
Audrey Greenwood, Hensel, and
Mr. and Mrs. Schluchter and
Leann and Diane.
