Delegates For

The nominating committees pre-
sented their slate of officers for
approval. $10 was donated to the
Canadian Cancer Society,
Mrs. Tony Charrette won the
raffle prize. The next meeting
will be held at the home of Mrs.
Charrette on April 27.

HOMEMADE MUSTARD

1 cup Keen's mustard
1 cup brown sugar
11 cup sour cream
% cup vinegar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
Mix mustard and brown sugar,
add other ingredients and boil till
thick, stirring it while it cooks,
(note) since I have used this mus-
tard I no longer like the ready
made mustards.
HEAVENLY WHITE CAKE
(Mrs. Aden Martin)
22/a cups sifted cake flour
1'/z cups sugar
11/2 teaspoons salt
4 teaspoons baking powder.
'A cup Mazola Salad Oil
4 egg yolks
'a cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons orange extract
for the water), 3 oz. semi -sweet
teaspoon cream of tartar
4 egg whites
Mix and sift together first 4 in-
gredients. Make a well and add:
oil, egg yolks, water, flavouring.
Beat until smooth. Add cream of
tartar to egg whites. Beat until
whites form very stiff peaks. Gen-
tly fold first mixture into egg whi-
tes until well blended. Turn into
2 ungreased 9 -in, layer tins. Bake
in moderate oven (350°) 35 to 40
minutes.
(Variations of Heavenly White

% cup white sugar, 3. cup
brown sugar, 2 teaspoons maple
flavouring substituted for white
sugar. 1 cup finely chopped pecans
(or walnuts) .

again been appointed summer as-
sistant to the Huron County Staff
of the Ontario Department of Ag-
riculture, Agricultural Represent-
ative, Douglas Miles announced
this week.
A third year student of animal
husbandry at OAC, the youth will
commence his duties on April 27.
He served on the County Staff last
summer.

about 375°. (Instead of greasing
the pans I use the paper baking
cups inside the eins). For a var-
iation of these cup cakes you may

lemon filling before replacing the
trop section.

are liable to prosecution under the Public Health Act.
Residents with information regarding this type of of-
fence in Huron County, are requested to submit partic-
ulars to:

TOWNSHIP OF HAY
NOTICE
The Hay Township Dumping Yard located on the
Parr Line, Concession Seven, Lot 15, was purchased for
the use of residents of the Township of Hay. Non-resi•
dents caught using this dump yard will be prosecuted,
All residents using this dump yard are asked to use
discretion and not dump the refuse on roadways. No
dead animals are to be dumped at any time. Offenders
will be prosecuted

regular meeting of Zurich Village Trustees;
We hereby proclaim that:

and call upon all citizens to observe this proclamation.

NOTICE
TOWNSHIP OF HAY
Corporation of the Townshi ;i of
BO. ,•.w No. 5, 1959
A 13y -Law to prohibit the throwing of refuse on highways.
WHEREAS; it is deemed expedient to prohibit the acts hereinafter
set forth pursuant to the powers granted under The Municipal
Act;
THEREFORE; the Council of the Corporation of the Township of
Hay enacts as follows:
1. In this By -Law "Highway" shall include any highway and
any Public bridge and any lane, road, footway, square, court,
alley or passage, whether a thoroughfare or not.
2. No person shall throw, place, deposit or otherwise cause to
appear on a highway within the Corporation any dirt, filth,
glass, handbills, paper or other rubbish or refuse, or the
carcass of any animal.
3. Any person who contravenes any provision of this by-law
shall upon conviction be liable to a penalty not exceeding
$50.00 exclusive of costs recoverable under the Summary
Convictions Act.
Read a third time and finally passed this sixth day of April, 1959.
