Lutheran Church Host To Teachers Convention, May 5 At a meeting of the Sunday School teachers of St. Peter's Lutheran Church last Friday night plans were made for the holding of the 34th• annual Stratford Dis- trict Sunday School Teachers' Convention in the Lutheran Chur- ch, Zurich, on Sunday, May 5, 1959. Meeting with the teachers were Carl Bennewitz, Stratford, presi- dent of the teachers' group, other executive members of the group, and representatives of various or- ganizations in the local church. It is estimated that about 150 teach- ers will be present for the occas- ion. The convention will consist of afternoon and evening sessions, Miss Norma Geiger spent the weekend in London, with her sis- ter, Mary. Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Sauder at- tended the funeral of Mr. Wilson Campbell, in Seaforth last Wed- nesday. Mrs. Annie Finkbeiner has left for Akron, Ohio, where she will spend the next few months with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Fritz were visitors in Toronto last week. They also attended the Scheer -Nesbitt wedding in Rochester, New York. Edward Deichert, Sarnia, spent the weekend with his family, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Deichert, in Zur- ich. Mrs. Gordon Howald and daugh- ter Karen, were weekend visitors with friends and relatives in and around Zurich. Mrs. Anne Turkheim has re- turned home after spending a week's vacation with friends and children in Toronto. with lunch being served at the two sessions.
