THE GOOD NEIGHBOR POLICY Peewee Players rang Glory to Zurich, Three Honoured in Shamrock Tourney Although they lost their game in the Shamrock Tournament in Luc - an on Saturday, the Zurich Pee- wees, through three of their play- ers, brought glory back to Zurich with them. Best Goalie Richard Stade, classy netminder of the Peewees, was the unanimous choice of the panel of judges as the best goaltender in the tourna- ment. He received a beautiful trophy in recognition of his award, being donated by Carl Murphy, Lucan. As well as playing for his own team against Kensal Park, Richard played goal for the Ailsa Craig entry, when their goalie be- came sick in the last minute. All -Stars Two other members of the Zur- ich squad, Cameron Witmer and Barry Block, were chosen as all- stars of the tournament. Camer- on plays defence for the locals, while Barry is the centre ice man. The judges. who picked their winn- ers on the basis of sportsmanship, ability, and all-round play, were Frank (King) Clancy, of the Tor- onto Maple Leafs, Tory Gregg, former president of the WOAA and the OHA; Hank Goldup, a former member of the Maple Leafs; Harry Shantz, Ilderton, and Bruce Huff, of the London Free Press. Tory Peewees To Face llildxnay at Young Canada Week The Zurich Peewees are enter- ed in the Young Canada Week Tournament to be held in the God- erich Arena this year. The first game for the local team will take place this Saturday morning, when they will face the Mildmay Pee- wees at 8.30 a.m. If the Zurich team comes through with a win in this game they will play again the following Saturday, in the next round. If" they lose the season for the locals. will be finished. Q Conservation. Club. To Meet April 3. The annual meeting of the Ellie - water Conservation Club, which. had been advertised for Friday,. March 20, has been postponed un- til Friday, April 3. It will take place in the Dominion Hotel, at 8 p.m. There will be free movies on outdoor sports, shown by the Carl- ing Conservation Club. Everyone is invited to attend this meeting. Gregg was also the Master of Cer- emonies. Fourteen teams took part in the tournament, which saw South London Lions capture the H. B. Langford trophy, emblema- tic of the Shamrock Tournament championship. In thegame played by the Zur- ich Peewees, they were defeated by the Kensal Park team, 2-1. The game was won for the city team with only 30 seconds remaining in the game. Phil Regier scored the lone goal for the locals, with the assist going to Cameron Witmer. Wins Award Although 'Hensel Peewees lost out to the South London team, one of their players, Craig Chap- man, was awarded the trophy for being the most valuable player on the ice. Large crowds attended the games, which were held all day long.
