SECOND GAME Playing back in Mildmay on Thursday night the locals rang up a 5-0 lead before Mildmay finally dented the twine, late in the third period. Earl Wagner was the top marksman for Zurich, banging in two goals, with singles going to Bob Johnston, Don Johnson and Gerard Overholt. Poor officiating, which saw Zur- ich given eight penalties and Mild- may only four, came close to caus- ing a donnybrook on the ice and among spectators. At one time in the first period when Zurich was playing two men short, the Mild- may team failed to get a good shot on the Zurich net, as the locals turned in a fine defensive display. The nicest goal of the game came in• the -second period when Bob Johnston took the puck from his own end, stickhandled past a number of opposing players, and then slipped the disc over to Ger- ard Overholt who made no mis- take in finding the net. Immediately after the game, Pete , Lobsinger, Mildmay, repre- senting'"tiie'"WOAA,• presented the Midget "D" trophy to Captain, Wayne Willert of the Zurich team. Zurich Peewees Eliminate Hensall Team The Zurich Peewee hockey team eliminated Hensall from further Shamrock League competition last Wednesday night, as they earned a 4-1 victory on their home ice. By virtue of their win they ad- vance into the finals against Lu - can. Three big goals in the second period was all the locals needed to salt away the third game in the best of three series. Neither team scored in the first period. Cameron Witmer, on an assist from Robert Bannister, op- ened the scoring in the second. Bannister then scored from Barry Block, and the third goal was banged in by Lennis Denomme, unassisted. Chapman scored the lone Hensall tally. In the third period Roy McAdams notched an insurance marker, with the assist going to Witmer. Three penalties were handed out in the game, two to Zurich and one to Hensall.
