Additional Classes Offered Exhibitors,
Working Toward Bigger Fall Fair
.As will be noticed in an adver-
tisement on this page a number of
exhibits for the 1959 Zurich Fail
Pair have been changed, All inter-
ested parties are asked to clip the
adv. and keep it for a handy ref-
erence in the future.
In an effort to increase the
amount of inside exhibits at the
fair this year the directors feel it
is necessary to revise the number
of different classes, since many of
them are outdated, With the addi-
tion to the board of directors of
two ladies it is felt much can be
done to raise the calibre of ex-
hibits, as well. While the ladies
have been busy making these
changes; they also plan on several
other changes in the domestic
science department. As new chan-
ges are made they will be publish-
ed so as to give exhibitors a chance
'to prepare themselves.

As well as changing some items
in the prize list, plans are under
way to increase the prize money
in many departments, especially in
the baking sections. Since the
fair is now changed to Saturday
and Monday and it means leaving
the baking in the show house over
the weekend, the value of the bak-
ing products for resale is practic-
ally lost, so the increase in. prize
money is to look after this loss.
A number of ladies have indicat-
ed their desire to become directors
at the Zurich Fall Fair, and if
there is any information they
would like they should contact
Mrs. Earl Flaxbard who is the
head of the committee which will
be looking after the inside depart-
ments.
. It is the hope of the Fall Fair
board that they will be able to
have prize lists available this year
at least two months before the
fair, so everyone has plenty of time
to decide what they may wish to
enter.

Golden Rule
Dear Editor:
This probably will break a hole
in the bottom of the waste paper
basket, as it maybe should. With
my poor composition and your typ-
ographical errors my last letter
maybe did not fully express it's
intended meaning, so here is an-
other Iine on Daylight Saving
Time.
It has been suggested that we

How Can I?
Q. How can I resize an Axmin
ster rug?
A. Stretch the rug tight an
tack face down on a floor, Sprink
with a solution made by dissolvin
1/4 pound of flake glue in 1/2 gallo
of water. Allow rug to dry
least one day. Care should b
taken not to put on so much glu
that it will show on the right side
Q. How can I preserve soap?
A. Soap will last longer if it i
well dried out. As soon as the soap
is received the wrappers shout
be removed from the bars and th
soap piled loosely in a dry place.
Q. How can I soften hard water?
A. Soften hard water by addin
to a boiler two-thirds full of Ovate
some sal -soda about the size of
large egg. This will not injure the
clothes, will whiten, and save rub-
bing,
Q. How can I prevent woollens
from shrinking when washing
them?
A. The shrinking can be greatly
reduced by observing three things:
use warm water, use mild soap,
and allow the woollens to dry
slowly.
Q. How can I keep honey from
turning into candy?
A. To keep strained honey from
candying, boil it gently.

Modern Etiquette
Q. When a man meets a girl on
the street and they stop to chat
for a few minutes, which one
should make the first move to
walk on?
A. The girl. The man should
keep chatting until she shows an
inclination to leave,
Q. What is the generally accept-
ed size of women's social station-
ery?
A. It's usually medium to small
in size -about 5% by 6% inches is
standard. However, pick a larger
size if your handwriting is partic-
ularly large, or if you type your
letters.
0
You don't hear so much about
the man in the street since auto-
mobiles have become so numerous.

we should not overlook.
I believe, that, as many farm-
