weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Glad-
win Westlake.
Mrs. Donald Matthews and
Maureen moved to London this
past weekend after spending some
time with her mother, Mrs. A. M.
Bassett.
Annual Meeting
Fraser Stirling was elected
president of the Bayfield Fall Fair
Board for 1959 at the annual
meeting of the Agricultural- So-
ciety, held in the village town
hall. Other officers are: vice- presi-
dents, Alvin Rau• and John Deeves;
secretary, Mrs. A. M, Bassett;
treasurer, Russell Grainger.
The same directors as served
in 1958 were returned to office,
with the names of Mrs. Frank
Yeo, RR 3, Clinton, . and Everett
Mcllwain, RR 2, Goderich, added
to the committee.
Attend Funeral
Mr. and Mrs, Bert Dunn, Jr.,
Bayfield, Murray Grainger, Elgin
Porter, Varna, Mrs. Gerald Hamil-
ton, Exeter, and Mrs. Russell
Grainger attended the funeral of
Mrs. George Morley in Norwich
on Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Mor-
ley died as a result of an acci-
dent near her home in Chatham
last Monday. Mrs. Morley's fath-
er, Rev. R. M. Gale, was minister
in the Bayfield United Church for
several years about 25 years ago,
Gladys was well known for her
musical talent and activities in the
work of the church.
At Course
Ronald and Howard Scotchiner,
Bayfield, attended the Bronze
Arrowhead Training Course held
in Exeter last weekend.
Miss Elaine Grainger, London
Teachers' College, sepnt the week-
end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Russell Grainger,
Miss Kathleen Talbot, Stratford
Teachers' College, spent the week-
end with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Clifford Talbot.
A review of 1958 showed a bal-
ance of $275.17 on hand, an in-
crease of $20•from the previous
year, when so many other agricul-
tural societies had a deficit.
