Zurich Midgets Lose Their First Game
Of Season To Hensall Last Tuesday
In the second half of the double-
header last Tuesday night against
Hensall the Zurich Lions Midgets
suffered their first defeat of the
season, losing a 4-3 overtime vic-
tory to the lowly Hensall squad.
It was the first win of the season
for the Hensall team.
Over -confidence played a big
part in the Midget loss as they
were becoming too sure of them-
selves after five straight victories.
Shaddick wasthe big gun in
the Hensall voctory as he scored
three of his team's four goals.
Gerard Overholt was top man for
the locals, with two goals and an
assist.
The teams split even in the first
period, Shaddick scoring for Hen-
sall and Bob Johnston for Zurich,
with assists going to Overholt and
Earl Wagner. Zurich went one up
in the second, on two goals by
Overholt. Shaddick earned his
second tally in that period.
With only five minutes left in.
the game Shaddick scored his
third of the night to tie the game
and cause an overtime session.
At the one minute mark in the
extra period, Christian scored
what proved to be the winning
goal, on a pass from Chipchase.
From the 12 -minute mark in the
second period the Zurich squad
failed to score a single goal.

Clinton. Teams
Here Friday Night
The next doubleheader to be
played in the Zurich Arena will
take place this Friday night when
the Clinton Bantams and Midgets
will be the visitors.
Both the Clinton and Zurich
Midgets are tied for top spot in
the league, and this promises to
be one of the best games of the
season on the local ice surface.
While Clinton is a C team and
Zurich only a D team there is
not much difference in the cali-
bre of hockey the two teams play,
and hockey fans can be sure of
seeing plenty of action in this
contest.
The Bantam game will get un-
der way at 7 p.m and the Midgets
are scheduled to start at 8.30
p.m.
Unique Farm
Forum
Some 20 members and visitors
attended the regular meeting of
the Unique Farm Forum at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Merner on Monday evening to
discuss the topic, "Who Writes
the Contract". After considerable
discussion the questions were an-
swered as follows:
(1) Have you any experience
with contract production in your
area?. We have had very little
experience with contract farming.
(2) How has it affected you?
It has lowered prices on our fowl,
eggs and other products which
are contracted by some other
farmers who are giving them in
larger quantities.
(3) How has it affected the man
under contract. We believe the
man under contract has made
more money and in many cases
it has helped his credit problems.
The forum was pleased to have
with them at their meeting the
Rev. and Mrs. Amacher. The
next meeting will be held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Schade. The topic for discussion,
"Who Holds the Reins" will be
taken by Mr. Aaron Oestriecher.

CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK
"Will this young lad be the
classy goal -tender his father
was", is the question going
around Zurich these days. By
all appearances to date he
'should have no trouble match-
ing his dad's ability. The boy
is Richard Stade, son of Har-
old Stade, a former great goal
tender. Richard plays goal
for the Zurich Pee Wees.
