Ferne Steckle Earns $5 Award
'Offered in T.B. Essay Contest
Ferne Steckle, SS 4E, Stanley
Township, won $5 in an essay
contest conducted by the Huron
County Tuberculosis Association,
Christmas Seals committee. Her
essay, which placed fourth in the
county, was one of 40 entries re-
ceived by the judges.
First place was won by Elizabeth
Inder, and second by Sharon Mar-
tin, both of Clinton Public School.
Elizabeth earned $15 and Sharon
$10. In third place was Margie
Howey, Exeter Public School and
fifth, Richard Neil, Clinton Public
School. Each of them reecived $5.
Honourable mention in the con-
test was awarded Edna Ducharme,
RCSS No. 1, Stanley Township;
Marilyn Campbell, SS 5, Morris;
Irla Martin, SS 4E Stanley; Saun-
dra Pleasance, Marilyn Jackson,
both of RCAF Station Clinton;
Nancy Watters, Goderich Public
School; Nancy Olde, Sharon Gray
and Lloy Ann Rutherford, Clinton
