Miss Donna Merner, London, was a weekend visitor at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arn- old Merner. Miss Anne Bullen, London, was a weekend visitor with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rawlings. Mr. and Mrs, Lawrence Brisson and family, St. Thomas, spent the weekend with friends and relatives around Zurich. A large number from this dis- trict attended the annual Fowl Bingo in Bayfield last Friday night sponsored by the Bayfield Lions Club. Kenneth Weido, student at Tea- chers' College in London, spent the past weekend at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Weido. Rev. and Mrs, E. Church, St. Joseph, was held at the home of Mrs. Rich- ard Jeffrey, with 21 members pre- sent. The bazaar which was held in November was very successful. The annual Christmas party will be held on January 4. Donations are to be sent to the Veterans' Fund, School of Christ program, and Christ the King Culture Col- lege. The members wish to express their thanks to the CWL of St, Boniface Church for entertaining them recently. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Charles Rau. the home of their daughl:er and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs, Fred Haberer, Jr. Home From Hospital Mr. Bob Adams has returned to his home in Egmondville after a stay in the hospital, and is im- proving very nicely. Parlmer, the former Hannah Belle Wilson, a resident of Hensall for many years, and a former dressmaker here, passed away in Clinton on Tuesday, Dec- ember 16, in her 86th year. Her husband, who was in busi- ness here for many years, died in 1938. Surviving are two sons, Earl, Toronto; Roy, Windsor; and one granddaughter, Carol. The body is resting at the Bon- thron funeral chapel, Hensall, where public funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 18, at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. Charles D. Daniel, and interment will be in Hensall Union Cemetery. Christmas Theme at December Meeting Of Lutheran United Church Women "Christmas in Bethlehem" was the topic presented by Mrs. Harold Thiel at the December meeting of the St. Peter's United Lutheran Church Women, which was held on Tuesday evening, December 9, Mrs. Carl Willert assisted Mrs. Thiel, and the singing of Christ- mas carols during the course of the meeting was most enjoyable. A highlight of the meeting was the presentation of gifts from the individual members of the society for patients in Westminster Hos- pital, London. The annual meeting followed the devotions. Reports given by the various committees indicated that the work of the society was very inspirational and gratifying dur- ing 1958, The new slate of officers is as follows: president, Mrs. O.
