Free Skating In Zurich Saturdays,
Public Skating Sunday Afternoon
There will be free skating
for everyone in the Zurich
Arena every Saturday after-
noon for the balance of the
winter. Arrangements have
been completed between the
Chamber of Commerce and the
arena board to allow this pub-
lic service.
HAY TOWNSHIP REEVE
V. L. Becker was again re-
turned to the office of reeve
of Hay Township, and along
with him he took his entire
council of 1958. Although
Deputy Reeve Alex Mous-
seau was nominated for
reeve, he declined to qualify
for the position, meaning
that the entire group was
returned by acclamation.

Santa Claus
Is Corning
To Gingerich's
Santa Claus is coming to
town! Yes, good old St. Nick
will be visiting Gingerich's
store in Zurich this Saturday
afternoon from 2-4.
All the children in this dist-
rict are invited to come out
and see Santa, and tell him
what they would like for
Christmas. Treats will be giv-
en to all the kiddies who drop
in and see him, and there will
also be a lucky draw for a
real nice toy.
Ice -making is now in pro-
gress, and, according to Wil-
liam Forrester, the newly ap-
pointed arena manager, there
should be good skating by the
weekend, providing the weath-
er stays suitable.
Due to a request from the
Zurich and District Chamber
of Commerce the Arena Board
has agreed to allow Su daY af-
ternoon skating
he
hours of 2-4. The chamber
request felt that children are
much better off having super-
vised skating on, Sunday after-
noon than they are roaming
around the streets.
