Miss Anne Taylor, London, spent
the weekend with Mrs. Letta Tay-
lor.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader, Glen
and Darlene and Rev. and Mrs.
K. L. Zorn were guests on Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Rader
and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Niksch
and family, Gary, Indiana, visited
with the latter's mother, Mrs.
Mary Martene, who is able to be
up a short time each day.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Biesenthal
and family, Capetown, and Miss
Eleanor Biesenthal, Hemlock,
Mich., were weekend visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Miller.
Fowl Bingo
The fowl bingo sponsored by the
Dashwood Men's Club last Friday
evening was a great success. Door
prize winners were: Otto Willert,
a duck, and Williart Miller, a tur-
key. Other major prize winners
were Mrs. Robert Hayter, William
Mason and Robert Wein, each with
two turkeys; George Tieman, a
turkey, two geese, a duck and a
chicken.
Proceeds are for the annual
Christmas treats for the district
children.
Huron County Temperance
Federation
The annual meeting of the Hu-
ron County Temperanec Federa-
tion was held on Friday, November
28, in the E.U.B. church, Dash-
wood. The local young people gave
the worship service and the local
men supplied the music.
The guest speaker was Rev. Gor-
don Domm, Toronto, general sec-
retary of the Ontario Federation.
He highly stressed the importance
of temperance education for youth.
The following officers were
chosen: honorary president, Frank
Howson, Wingham; past president
and member of executive, Well -
wood Gill, Grand Bend; president,
Rev. W. F. Krotz, Dashwood; vice-
presidents, Howard Pym, Central-
ia, Roy. Cotiiins, Brussels, flairy
Hoffman, Dashwood, Don Aber -
hart, Goderich; treasurer, Fred
McClyomnt, Varna; secretary,
Mrs. N. W. Tft Vvartha, Clinton.

Men's Chapter Organize
The following officers were
elected: president, Carl Oestreich-
er; vice-president, Lloyd Eagleson;
secretary -treasurer, Stuart Wolfe;
devotional life commission, George
Link; christian training commis-
sion, Addison Tiernan; Christian
service commission, Harry Hoff-
man; Christian fellowship commis-
sion, Donald Gaiser. Meetings are
to be held the last Wednesday of
each month.
Dashwood . Merry Maids
The 4-H Merry Maids held their
meeting at the home of Carol and
Iris Becker, with six girls and
the leaders, Mrs. Sid Baker and
Mrs. Arnold Kuntz, present.
The following cereal dishes
were prepared by the members:
apple oatmeal squares, with lemon
sauce, rice custard with brown
and polished rice, red river cereal,
quick rolled oats and cream of
wheat.
Mrs. Kuntz discussed cereal pro-
ducts and how to serve cereals.
Home assignment is to make a
list of all food products of wheat,
oats and corn you are familiar
with. Cook cereals at least once
for breakfast or dessert. Roll call:

SPRINGHILL FUND
(Huron Expositor)
Donations totalling S470.92 have
been received by the Springhill
Disaster Fund from Seaforth and
district donors. The fund was in-
augurated by the Chamber of Com-
merce here a few days after the
disaster.
In addition to these donations,
additional amounts have been don-
ated through funds established by
several district churches.

Peewees Start Off
Season With 4-2
Win In Hensall
The Zurich Chamber of Com-
merce sponsored Pee Wees won
their first game of the season on
Friday night by downing Hensall
Pee Wees 4-2 in Hensall.
Robert Bannister and Roy Mc-
Adams were the heroes of the Zur-
ich victory, as they each scored
two goals and assisted on one
more.
Zurich took a 1-0 lead in the
first period on Robert Bannister's
first goal, with the assist going to
Cameron Witmer. In the second
period he scored his second goal on
passes from Barry Block and Roy
McAdams. Roy made it 3-0 on a
goal from Barry Block and Ken
Westlake, which was the nicest
goal of the game. Finally Bobbie
Carlisle scored unassisted for Hen-
sall, to end the second period 3-1.
Dave Cameron scored again for
Hensell in the third period, only to
have Roy McAdams come right
back with another goal from Rob-
ert Bannister to end the game 4-2.
Cameron Witmer was a standout
on the Zurich defence.
Zurich: goal, Wayne Decker; de-
fence. Ken Westlake, Earl Reich-
ert; centre, Philip Regier; wings,
Cameron Witmer, Richard Thiel;
alternates, Barry Block, Robert
Bannister, Roy McAdams, Ross
Fischer, Richard Breakey, Jim,
Charles and Bob Masse.
Zurich's next game will be this
coming Friday night, when they
play Ilderton in Hensall at 8 p.m.

GIRL GUIDE NEWS
The Girl Guides held their reg-
ular weekly meeting last Thurs-
day night and opened with the
singing of "God Save The Queen”,
the Guides Promise, and a prayer.
The girls finished some doll
clothes they were making, and
were dismissed early.
