U. S. WEATHER BALLOON
FOUND ON GINGERICH FARM
A US weather balloon was found
on the farm of Noah Gingerich,
RR 3, Bayfield, last Saturday mor-
ning. A parachute had supported
a white box containing the ap-
paratus which had been recording
weather conditions.
According to a card which was
attached to the box, the balloon
had been sent up from Flint,
Michigan, the same day as it
came down on the faun. Mr. Gin-
gerich returned the box to the
United States government, as re-
quested on the card. It stated
there that the returning of the
same would help the government
in their study of weather condi-
tions.

FINE WEATHER CAUSES
ODDITIES
With the unseasonable weather
we have been having lately all
sorts of unusual reports are rea-
ching our office. Last week a
party informed us they were eat-
ing some ripe raspberries from
their patch. With the little amount
of frost we have had so far this
seems to be quite possible.
On Saturday night, Clarence
Gascho, Zurich, informed us he
had some hollyhocks in bloom
right now. Who knows, perhaps
spring and fal], have exchanged
seasons.
