Likes Germany
Word has been received in Zur-
ich by Mrs. Fred Regier, from her
daughter Winnie, Mrs. W. H.
Quinn, now living in Germany, that
they like the country very well
Her husband is with the United
States army, stationed there, and
Mrs. Quinn tells her mother the
people in the district they live in
are; quite friendly.
Some time ago Mrs. Regier sub-
scribed to the Citizens News for
her daughter, and in the letter
she tells her mother it takes about
one month for the paper to reach
them. "After the first one it is
not so bad," she tells her mother,
"We keep getting a paper every
week." And, according to Mrs.
Regier, they do enjoy reading all
the news from home, even though
it is late getting there.

How Can l
Q. How can I make the elastic
in garters last longer ?
A. Instead of sewing the ends
of garters together, cut the elas-
tic about two inches shorter than
ordinarily, sew a piece of ribbon
to each end, and tie the bow when
pubtfing on. As the elastic stretch-
es, the ribbon will take up the re-
quired space.
Q. How can I drop liquid from
a bottle without the use of a drop-
per, ?
A. Dip the finger in water and
moisten the atm of the bottle in
one place. If this place is used
from which to drop' the liquid, it
will drop evenly and easily.
Q. How can I clean 'white vel-
vet?
A. Sponge with a commercial
cleaner, always rubbing in the dir-
ection of the nap. Then stretch
right side up over a bowl of hot
water and brush the nap with a
soft brush.
Q. How can I remove scorched
spots from clothing?
A. Rub with a white cloth mois-
tened with peroxide. Do not use
on colored garments, as it will re-
move the color.
Cookies For The 'Teenage Crowd
Made With Nutritious Putter
I's there a special 'teenage dance
coming up? That probably means
someone in the 'crowd will be giv-
ing a panty beforehand far allose
friends 'planning too attend. A
good idea, ,wer think, ;for nowadatys
these spec ail affairs are extravag-
anzas, capably managed by stu-
dents councils, and there's little
opportunity for the gang to enjoy
themselves as an individual. group.
Lost in the crowd, tbest friends

the resit of the evening.
Besides, ?iit's refreshing for the
alder folk to glance in at the
young !people, chattering and
mingling with nary a care tin the

Refreshments, ts, needn't be a bur-

youngsters to voice t'h'eir opinions
and then lefts them be a piar't of
the ".show". It gives them an op-
portunity to 'develop poise while
entertaining. We all know young-

easy enough for even the boys

many boys are intterested in learn -
ling standard .cookery 'technique.
Try it and you'll .discover a very
enthusiastic group .of learners.

PEACE WITH GOD
"The wicked do not"
There is no peace; saith the Lord unto the wicked,
(Isa. 48: 22)
"Jesus gives peace"
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you. (Jno. 14:27)..
"Believers in Christ have it"
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with
God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom. 5: 1)
Great peace have they which love thy law;
And nothing shall offend them. (Psa. 119: 165)
