"WHERE BETTER BULLS ARE USED"
Offspring of our bulls continue to win their share of
honours at the shows especially when given equal opportunity.
Example—JERSEY
A daughter of Brampton Standing Beacon was Grand
Champion at the 1958 Waterloo County -Parish -Show for Sher-
wood Taylor of Galt. Her dam was a daughter of Jester's
Dreamer and a top show cow. Her grandam was a daughter of
Brampton B. Violet's Beacon and a Reserve Grand Champion
at the Royal Winter Fair. These three generations were all
bred through the Waterloo Unit.
Example—HOLSTEIN

at the 1958 Waterloo County Black and White Show for Irvin
Brubacher. Her dam was by Elmcroft Mon -O -Grand. These
are both Waterloo Unit sires. The Waterloo County Black and
White show was the largest in Ontario so far for this season.
Unit daughters were prominent amongst the winners especially
in the milking age females.

picture June is shown with
slippers, a hand bag, etc.,
which .Jessie has sent to her
just recently. Oddly enough,
all the pen pals of June's are
girls, so local boys don't have
'to worry about fellows from
other countries cutting in on
them. According to June, who
is the daughter of our Dash-
wood correspondent, most of
the girls she writes to are go-
ing to school, and to do this
they must be away from home.
Another of her favorite past -
times is stamp collecting, and
it is through this medium that
she contacts many of her pen
pals. June is 16 'years old,
and attends South Huron Dis-
trict High School in Exeter.
