Miss Sshirly Geoffroi, the Blue Water south, spent three days at Brescia Hall, Landon, on retreat. Miss Ann Corriveau left on Sun- day unday last to visit for a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Morley Fourn- ier in London. Mr. and Mrs. J. Forsythe, Det- roit, who have been camping in their summer home for the past few weeks have returned to their Detroit home on Monday last. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brock, London, spent the past weekend in their cottage at Bay View re- sort. Mr. and Mrs. St. Louis and another couple from Tecumseh, are camping for a few days at D udharme's Beach. The St. Louis will also visit their son -in -lane and +laughter, Mr. and Mrs, Victor Masse, Zurich. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mernvidge, Detroit, have spent the weekend with the Tatter's mother, Mrs. Sar- ah Jeffery and other members of the family. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Badard and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Masse spent a fe4w days in Courtright and other points the past week. The weather has its set backs for many things, especially in the fall when :beans and other late crops have to be harvested. But broken and wet, humid and disa- greeable weather has also its good points, for yours truly attributes the past rain, wind and sun shine to maturing the few raspberries that needed such weather for rip- ening. The result: on Sunday, Sep- tember 6, they picked enough from their patch to give them a good meal. Mr. Raymond Denomme of the Blue Water Highway, who has been laid up from a fractured foot due to an accident on the farm, is somewshat uhrnpraved but it will be some time before he is active again. A Teacher's Problem Among a high class there was a student with the .gift of speech who did much talking in the cless- room. The teacher, being embar- assed, wrote on his report card to his parents, "Johne is a good student, but he talks to much." Steckle were Sunday guests with the for- mer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Steckle and family. Luckily already much of the crop has been harvested and fainly promising for an average yield. The bean crop is a gamble from start to finish, and this year, as in the past, they are faced with the 14 days of unsettl- ed weather which adds to their worries. Mr. and Mrs. Hector Fortier, Detroit, are enjoying their sumaner holidays away from the city, and have spent the past weekend in St. Joseph. From there they left with Mr. and Mrs. Anthony La- porte on a trip to visit with rela- tives in the northern part of this province.
