Ducharme
A setting of gladioli decorated
St. Peter's Roman Catholic Ch-
urch, St. Joseph, on August 30, at
9 a.m. for the wedding of Martha
Ducharme, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Paul Ducharme, Dashwood,
and Matthew Ducharme, son of
William Ducharme, Jr., St. Joseph,
and the late Mrs. Ducharme.
Rev. Father Poisson officiated at
Geo. K. Hardman
will attend
the double ring ceremony.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father and wore a
floor -length gown of Chantilly
lace net over satin with a match-
ing bolero, lily point sleeves, and
a Peter Pan collar with sequins
and pearls. A headdress of lace
and net studded with pearls and
sequins held her finger-tip veil.
She carried a bouquet of red
roses.
Theresa Ducharme, sister of the
bride, was matron of honour and

a layer of satin and net and car-
ried a bouquet of pink roses.
Bridesmaids were Letitia Du-
charme,;Foseph, and Veronica
Ducharme, Dashwood. They were
gowned alike in aqua chiffon over
a layer of satin and net and car-
ried bouquets of pink roses.
Groomsmen were Adrien Du-
charme, Andrew Ducharme, and
Jim Bedard, St. Joseph, Adrien
Ducharme, Zurich, and Edsel Du-
charme, Dashwood, acted as ush-
ers.
"The Wedding March," and "0
Beautiful Mother," were played
by the organist, Miss Yvonne Den-
omme.
A reception was held in the
Community Centre, Zurich.
The bride's mother received
guests in a powder blue dress
with pink accessories.
For travelling the bride chose
a dark green dress dotted with
white, and white accessories.
Upon their return from a wed-
ding trip to the United States
and Midland, the young couple
will reside in St. Joseph.

Honor Bride -Elect

Mrs. Harold C. Bell, Hensall,
entertained at a trousseau tea at
her home on Saturday afternoon
and evening of August 30, in hon-
or of her daughter, Shirley, whose
marriage takes place in Carmel
Presbyterian Church, Hensall, this
Saturday. Mrs. Pearl Passmore,
Hensall, mother of the groom -to -
be, assisted Mrs. Bell and the
bride in receiving the guests.
Assisting in the kitchen were
Mrs. Roy McBride, Zurich; Mrs.
Lavery Routley

In a double sting ceremony in
the United ,Church manse at Ar-
kona, on Saturday, August 23 at
2.30 p.m., Verlie Margaret Rout-
ley became the bride of Gordon
Milton Lavery, Hensall. The bride
is the daughter of Garnet Rout-
ley, A•rkona, and the date Mrs.
Routley. The groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lavery,
Hensall. The Rev. J. Cook, pastor
oaf the United Churdh in Arkoma
officiate'.
The bride was lovely wearing a
balleriIna length gown of pale blue
crystalline fashioned with a tight-
fitting !bodice dotted with brilliants
and matching jacket and full
bouffant skirt. Her headdress was
of pale blue pillbox style and
shoulder veil and she wore a cors-
age of red and white roses.
The bride was attended by her
sister, Mrs. Van Ka1•sbeek, Sarnia,
weaning a pink lace sheath dress
with pink chiffon cuznmerbund,
pink feather hat and a corsage of
white carnations.
Robert Lavery, Hensall, was his
brother's groomsman.
Foilowi.hg the ceremony a recep-
tion for 40 guests was held at the
town hall, which was tastefully de-
corated withpink and white
streamers and bells and baskets
of mixed gladioli.
.After the reception the bride
and groom left amid a shower of
confetti for a honeymoon trip to
Northern Ontario. On their re-
turn they will reside in Zurich.

Doctor's Son Fractures Arm

John Goddard, son of Dr. and
Mrs. J. C. Goddard, Hensall, frac-
tured his right arm on Wednesday
night.
Jahn was playing in a tree
with Michael Davis, when he jump-
ed and fell down. X -Rays at South
Huron Hospital, Exeter, revealed
the fracture.
Gordon Bloch, Zurich, and Mrs.
Pearl Love, Varna. Serviteurs
were Mrs. Warren Thomson, Kip -
pen; Mrs. Edward Corbett, Hen-
sall; Mrs. Donald Bell, Exeter,
and Mrs. Glen Nixon, Hensall.
Pouring tea in the afternoon and
evening were Mrs. Carolyn Bell,
Exeter, and Mrs. John McBride,
Zurich, grandmothers of the bride;
Sharon Block, Zurich, was in
charge of the register in the af-
ternoon and evening.
The gifts were shown by Miss
Betty Bell, bride's trousseau by
Miss Norma Passmore, and linens
by Miss Pat Bell, all of Hensall
