visitors with friends and rela,tirves
in Zurich.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gemming
and family, Rochester, N.Y., are
spending a few days at the home
of Mrs. MelMirra Johnston.
Miss Marlene Wagner and Miss
Grace Tusher, London, spent the
weekend Wirth Marlene's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Len Wagner.
William Siebert and children
are can joying a couple of weeps va-
cation at a cottage near Ben Mil-
ler,
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd O'Brien,
Miss Olive O'Brien and William
O'Brien are spending a few days
in the Parry Sound district.
Mr ..and Mrs. Ted Deichert are
spending their vacation with Mrs.
Deiehert's sister, Miss Ethel Gab-
el.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hess have
le?ft on a motor trip to the St.
Lawrence Seaway and other points
of interest.
Modern Etiquette
Q, Just what is the correct way
to eat an olive? Does one put
the whole ,oll7ve into the mouth
at once, or does one make only
small bites out of it while hold-
ing it in the fingers?
A. A very small stuffed. olive
may be put into the mouth whole.
A larger stuffed one should be
eaten do two bates. A plain olive
is held in the fingers and pieces
bitten off around the stone.
Q. Is it proper for a woman to
say "Thank you" to a strange man
who steps aside to allow her to
enter an elevator or bus?
A. You are never overdoing pol-
itness when you say "Thank you",
Q. When a man is accompanying
his wife and another woman to
some social :function, which wom-
an does he assist first with her
wraps?
A. He should assist the woman
guest first.
Q. I am mailing about 200
wedding ^nvitations. Is it all right
for me to use a metered stamp
on the envelopes?
A. Never! The stamps must be
attached by hand.

spending some holidays at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Larne Rad-

Miss Dianne Thiel, London; is
spending a couple of week's holi-
days at the home of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thiel.
Mrs. Minnie Weido, London, is
spending the week at the, home of
her daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Bed-
ard, and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Schilbe
and. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Merner,
Sr., motored to Detroit for the
weekend. They attended the wed-
ding of Mr. and Mrs, Merner's
nephew on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Herb Becker,
Kitchener, were Sunday visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. E. R Wuerth,
and other relatives in town..
George Green, Mrs. Weiss and
daughter, San. Francisco, having
been spending a few days at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. John Al-
brecht. They returned home on
Tuesday and were accompanied
by Mrs. Emma Sullivan, who will
take up residence with her daugh-
ter.
Lutheran Ladies
Plan Ham Supper
At Arena in August
The Ladies Acid of St. Peter's
Lutheran Church are planning to
stage a 'ham supper in the Carn:-
munity Centre on Wednesday,
August 20. The menu con-
sist of dinner ham, .potato salad,
pork and beans, and home made
pies.
While this is the first year
such an event 'is being .held by
these ladies, it is their hope they
will be able to snake an annual
event of it. Advance 'tickets wlrll
be on sale within the next few
days, and may be purchased from
any member of the Ladies Add, or
at Thie'l's Superior Store or Rad-
er and Mi'ttelhaltz Hardware
Store.
