Heller's Three -Hit Pitching For the fourth time this season the Zurich Lumberkings downed the powerful Mitchell Legionanres this time by a score of 4.3, &n Zurich last Wednesday night. Poor deeision of umpire Henry Harburn on when to call the game on account of darkness almost lost the game for the 'Kings, as Mitchell scored three of :their runs after it was much too dark to be playing ball. Although he needed help from Bob White in the seventh inning, Ron Helier looked .very im,pres- sdve do his home mound debut +back in a Lumberking uniform. He had ,previously pitched for Zu- rich four years ago, and since that .time has played bald in Cali- fornia. Heller struck out four batters and gave up but six hilts. He gave up only two bases on balls. Meanwhile Bob Sadler was also pitching very effective ball for Mitchell, giving up only six hits, one a double .to Manager Tom. Rawlings. He struck out three Zurich battens. The 'Kings scored one run in the first inning, and added the other three in the 'big 3rd hinting, when they combined two bases on balls and two hits to score all three. Mitchell scored all th- ree of their runs in the seventh dining, which should never have been played because of darkness. A feature of the game was a triple 'play executed by the Exeter crew in the sixth inning. Lead-off batter Moir singled, advanced to second on Gignac's single, and then Parker lined 'a fly ball to third baseman Jim Russel, who in turn threw to second and caught Moir off guard. The second base- man threw to first and also coughf Gignac with too big a lead-off to complete the triple play. Zurich had a total of seven stol- en bases, Don O'Brien leading in this department with three, and Doug O'Brien following with two.
