Douglas Armstrong had an ac-
cident on Saturday morning while
on his way to work in. Zurich.
Mr, and Mrs. Bert McBride and
Mr. and Mrs. Clare McBride mot-
ored to Brampton on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Elliott
and family motored to St, Marys
an Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Keys. spent
Sunday at Brucefield. They at-
tended the Golden Jubilee An-
niversary with Mrs. Keys assist-
ing in the choir.
Mn and Mrs. Bruce Keys and
Mr. and Mrs. Anson McKinley
went on the bus trip to York
County, last Thursday, which was
sponsored by the Hiuron and Perth.

Gordon Hill, Varna, president
of the Ontario Farmers Union
was .taken to Victoria Hospital
last Friday. When fixing a wagon
at home a splinter of steel flew
into his eye. He is expected to
be there about ten days.
WMS Meeting
The ladies of Goshen Woman's
Missionary Society met at the
parsonage, Varna, for the June
meeting on Thursday night. Mrs.

calls were reported made to the
sick and shut-ins. Every year the
WMS entertain the :Baby Band
and Mission, Band at a picnic.
The date for this is on July 10.
Committees were appointed this
year for both lunch and spurts.
The .first vice-president in charge
of the sports: with one out of each
group to look after the lunch.
The program on Christian Giv-
ing was prepared by Mrs. Bruce
Keys and iced by the president
Mrs. Elmer Hayter.
The minutes were read and 20
members answered tate roll call.
Mrs. Walter Eckel reported on
the bale sent to Manitoba. Mrs.
William Clark read a letter from
the Missionary for Prayer, Miss
Anne Davison. A thank you card
was received from Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Peck. The meeting was
closed with prayer by Mrs. T. J.
Pitt.
Mission Band
Goshen Mission Band met on
Sunday morning with Mrs. Clare
McBride and Mrs. Robert Mc-
Kinley in charge; Marlene Keys
presiding. The meeting opened by
repeating the Mission Band Pur-
pose and hymn. Gwen McBride
read the minutes and 27 answer-
ed the roll call. One member had
a birthday.
The story of "Trip to Gifu" was
read by Mrs. McBride. The wor-
ship period was followed as in
the Leader's Guide with call to
worship by Marlene Keys; prayer
by Patricia Robinson and com-
ments on the story by Mrs. Mc-
Kinley.
Jacqueline Peck read the Scrip-
ture from Luke and Donna Peck
took up offering with offertory
prayer by Marlene Keys. The
meeting closed by singing "1 am
so. Glad that Our Father in Heav-
en" with Donna Peck at the piano,

Bob Love spent the weekend
at the home of his parents Mr. and
Mrs. Ross Love.
George Coleman spent the week-
end at the home of his parents
and attended Miss Donna McBri-
de's wedding on Saturday.
Miss Joyce Smale, R.N., of
Alberta, is spending her holidays
with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Steph-
enson and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Coleman
and family attended the Golden
Jubilee Services at Brucefield
United Church on Sunday.
Shower
On Tuesday evening, June 10,
a shower was given in honour of
Miss Joyce Whittaker, bride elect
of Saturday, June 14, at S.S. 3,
Hay. The shower was arranged
by Mrs. Riley and quite a number
of the ladies from the community
attended.
Bingo was played and enjoyed
by all. Mrs. Riley then had a
"Floral Contest".
Mrs. Charles Robinson read the
address and Joyce was the recip-
ient of many lovely and useful
gifts, After opening her gifts, Joy-
ce thanked everyone and invited
them to her new home.
Lunch follawed and a social
hour enjoyed.

In Hensall 44-1
White Bean Club
The initial meeting for 1958 of
the Hensall 4-H White Bean Club
was held in ,thee Hensaal Town Hall
Monday night. There was a very
good turnout, and 20 members
were enrolled. It is expected that
a few more names will be added
before ,the next meeting on June
24.
The members received founda-
tion seed of the new S,anilac var-
iety. The leaders of the Club are
Bob 411an, Bruceifiielid, and Jack
Peck, Klippen. Bab Allan address-
ed the meeting.
The following officers were el-
ected: president, Phy]iss Lostell!;
nice -president, Marjorie Samaras;
secretary, Ross McBeath; press
reporter, Alex Hyde.

Wedding.

and family, accompanied by the
former's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Peter Gingerich, spent Sunday
afternoon at London visiting the
latter's uncle, Mr. Chris Gingerich
who is a patient in Victoria Hos-
pital.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Weidrich
and daughter Lois, and Mrs. Nancy
Schwartzentruber returned from a
trip to New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Gingerich
and family spent Sunday at the
Bender re -union at the Pinehill
gardens near Baden.
Mr. and Mrs. William Steckle
returned from their honeymoon
and reported a lovely trip.

accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Jacob
Gingerich to Moorefield and Alma,.
Ontario, and report a lovely trip
to the Conestoga dam, on Sunday..
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boshart,
St. Jacobs, visited with. Mr. and
Mrs. Edmund Erb and other rel-
atives over the weekend.
Mr, and Mrs. Aden Martin and
'Carol, Gowanstown, Ontario, vis-
ited with the latter's parents Mr.
and Mrs. Menno Steckle and fam-
ily, also attending the Martin -Mar --
tin wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Martin,
(bridal couple) left on a honey-
moon to the state of Pennsylvania;
and other points.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bacherc,
spent Sunday with the formers;
father, near Kitchener, and also
visited relatives at Manheim.
