Kitchener from Windsor to visit
relatives for a couple of days, then
to the forrner's parents on this
highway, and they returned to
'their home on Monday last.

east visitors with the •farmer's par-
ents on this highway.
Mr. Victor Masse, Windsor,
spent last weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Pete Masse of the 14th Con.,

the 14th Con., also on Sunday last
visited with her sister Mrs. Jose-
phine Ducharme.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Byder and
,family, London, spent Father's Day
with Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bedard,
the Matter's rparenis.
On Sunday last, Father's Day
visitors at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Ducharme were Mr,
and Mrs. Tyrus Stansberry, and
son Dale, Detroit, Mr. and Mrs.
Avila Ducharme and family, Blue
Water south. Also calling on them
were Mrs. Sarah Geoffrey, Miss
Lucille Geoffrey and son Gerard
Walkerton.
Father's Day is one set aside
for children to show their high
esteem and respect, and there is
ria better way to bring joy to
parents. It brings families to-
gether to pass what is considered
a happy reunion. This idea of a
Mother's Day and a Father's Day

Miss Carole Richardson, Henus-
athl, bride -elect of June 20, was

WEDDING
Venner-Desjardine
Rev. Holley, minister of Grand
Bend United Church officiated at
a wedding of Marion Yvonne Des-
jardine and Murray Ray Venner
of Hensall, on Saturday, June 14
at high noon.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Desjardine,
Grand Bend, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley James
Veneer, Hensall.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a full length
gown of nylon net and lace over
satin fashioned with chantilly lace
over satin bodice, and bollero with
tiny lace collar and long lily point
sleeves. The bouffant skirt in
lour tiers of net each with a deep
border of lace.
The finger tip veil of silk il-
lusion was held with a border
of sequins and pearl.
She carried a cascade of red
roses and white baby 'mums. The
attendants, Miss Grace Johns, maid
of honour, and Miss Barbara Des-
jardine sister of the bride. as
bridesmaid, wore waltz length bou-
ffant gowns of aqua nylon net
over taffeta and pink nylon net
over taffeta. They carried bou-
quets of pink rose buds and white
and yellow 'mums.
Groomsmen were Roger Venner
brother of the groom, and Gerald
Bell.
The ushers were Gilbert. Johns
of Exeter and Raymond Latta of
Grand Bend.
The sisters of the bride, Linda
and Heather, sang; The Lord is ivy
Shepherd.
.. The wedding dinner was held in
the church parlour with Mrs. Des-
jardine, mother of the bride, re-
ceiving in rose lace over taffeta,
assisted by the groom's mother in.
forget-me-not blue lace.
For travelling the bride wore a
blue taffeta dress with white ac-
cessories. The couple will reside
in Hensall.
Girl Guide News

The Guides held their weekly
meeting at the town hall on Thurs-
day night, with all but one pres-
ent. Plains for the forthcoming
camping trip were discussed and
the meeting closed with taps.

camp and the Guides appreciate
any help 'that was .given.
A large L-shaped barn and hen-
house on the term of Campbell
Eyre, four miles east of Hensail,
burned to its foundation on Thurs-
day night, with loss of about 16
pigs, 160 hens, farm implements
and machinery. Lase, was: estimat-
ed at more, than $15,000.
The blaze was discovered by a
son, Mervyn Eyre, 23, after flam-
es .appeared to have broken out
either in the adjoining 36 X 20
henhouse or the adjacent part
of the barn, a 76 X 32 foot struc-
ture with a 54 X 36 wing. Memb-
ers of the family were in the
house at the time.
Mr. Eyre sued Sit was possible
that some sheep and lambs might
also have ,died in the flames.
Among contents destroyed were
a grain blower, spreader, wagon,

Staff Banqueted
At Goderich Pay.

The staff and employees of
General Coach Works of Canada
were tendered a •banquet by the
firm at the Pavillion, Goderich on
Friday evenircng. A turkey dinner
watt, alt the trimmings was served
followed by :dancing with the
music of Johnny Downs and his
ordrestra.
Out of town guests attending
were John Atkins, president of
General' Coach Works, and Riley
Ramsay, vice-president from Mar-
lette, Michigan. Eacrh lady was
presented with a corsage.
Winner of the Frigidaire Auto-
matic Dryer was Mrs. Pearl Pass-
more, Hensel/II the lucky •ticket
being drawn by Miss Margaret
Moir. This draw was sponsored
by the General Coach Sports
Committee., Billy Noakes sold the
winning :ticket. The toaster was
won by Miss Lorraine Taylor,
Grand Bend.

Firemen from Hensall and Sea-
forth pumped water from a near-
by ,farm. pond to save a ;Large

Two Exeter Men
Plead Guilty To
Dashwood Breakj.n
Two Exeter men were arrested
early Thursday following a break-
in at the horn of a Dashwood
pensioner.
William Burleigh and Wallace
Kenney, pleaded guilty to a joint
charge of breaking and entering
and were bath placed under sus-
pended sentence• for six months
on their own security bond of
°100.
Arrested on Spot
At 3 .a.m. last Thursday a win-
dow was broken at the home of
William Wein. Mr. Wein called
Ontario Provincial Police and
Constable Cecil Gibbons, of the
Exeter detachment, arrested ;the
pair.
Asked why they broke into the
house by Magistrate Dudley E.
Holmes, the parr answered: "We
had been drinking."
