He told the County Council that one percent of all; taxes collected in Huron was spent on hearth services. The unit 'incurred it's expenses through family and achiral hearth services, environment sanitation work and distribution of -vaccines in child health conferences and test clinics. "We further recommend that the County Home committee be given authority to proceed with the preparation of plans for the pro- posed addition for :later submis- sion to council." At the time the present addi- tion to ;the home was built, a master plan was prepared which provided' for future expansion. The architect is to contact the. Dep- artment of Welfare at Toronto wih a view to ,proceeding with the ,proposed addition. During a period of four years the number of people at the Huron County Home has increased from 66 to 103 with every indication of further increases. Increase Pay Committee members of rthe County Council wi l get half again as much as they have ibeen, paid for attending meetings. County Council decided ,to increase. renu- meration from $8 to $12, plus mileage. Walker, St. George, Provincial Convener of Historical Research and Current Events con- ducted the workshop and gave suggestions for the compiling of the history books and had on ex- hibit books from the provincial and her local branch. She commented on the books each institute convener brought, Which indicated a splendid re- search is being carried on by the manybranches who are continual- ly at work on the Tweedsmuir Histories.
