In the absence of Mrs. Wilbert Dilling, who is i11 in Vic- toria Hospital, London, Mrs. T. C. Coates presided and took the de- votional period, assisted by Mrs. Elgin Rowcliffe. A panel discus- sion on the financial responsibility towards the World Church threw out a challenge that we have re- sponsibilities in the working of the organization, the training of leaders and the encouraging of missionaries who are underpaid. Those on the panel were Mrs, Sim Roobol, Miss A. Consitt, Mrs, Nor- man Jones, Mrs. George Arm- strong and Mrs. Coates. The group favoured with a chorus, "Jesus is calling", Mrs, T. Sherritt was pianist. The president, Mrs. G. Arm- strong presided for the business session and expressed thanks to Mrs. Coates for the fine program. Thank -you notes were read from Mrs. Jack Traquair, Mrs. A. W. Shirray and Mrs. J. Richardson. An invitation was received to at- tend the birthday party of the Women's Missionary Society of Carmel Church on June 12 and was accepted. Mrs. Armstrong made announcement of the Pres- bytery wide national mission to the Nation. Mrs. Norman Jones, convener of the supply committee, reported for the bale which was packed on Tuesday and Wednes- day, weighing four hundred lbs. and valued at $526.50; fourteen of the boxes packed were forwarded to Toronto for overseas relief, and the 15th box, weighing 40 pounds, containing five quilts, uniforms, dressing gowns, ladies and child- ren's clothing, was sent to Dr. Whiting of the Mission Hospital, Hazelton, S.C. A questionaire on radio and TV programs was answered by the members present. Arrangements for the annual baby band party on June 19 at 2.30 p.m. were made. The lunch committee are Mrs. L. Mickle, Mrs. N. E. Cook, Mrs. H. Correspondent) McMurtrie, Mrs. N. Jones; recep- tion, Mrs. Armstrong, Miss Ellis. The School for Leaders, Alma Col- lege, St. Thomas, August 25 to 29, was discussed for which a dele- gate is expected to attend.
