Cream well the butter, gradually add the sug- ar; then add eggs and vanilla and beat well; then stir in the sifted ingredients, add oatmeal and nuts.; unix well. Drop by teaspoon onto lightly buttered 'baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 12-15 minutes. T.hns makes a :large amount of cookies When I use this recipe with children in mid to eat .them, I omit the nuts and add a round- ed cup of corn flakes,. This res- ignation was accepted and Russell Gratinger was appointed to fill out Mr. Howard's term. Rad Fire A large henhouse and a barn were :destroyed by fire on Sun- day unday night on the farm owned by Ken Etiue, Seafiorth, and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Denomme. Both Zurich and Bayfield fire dep- artments answered the call but were unable to save the buildings, A barn on the adjoining farm owned by N. Overholt had to be watched as fire started several. times on the roof. A large num- ber of pigs were also lost in the fire.
