HURON COUNTY
F• RMING REPORT
(By A. S. BOLTON, assistant ag-
ricultural representative for
Huron County)
Cold weather and frost in some
areas has almost shopped growth
as far as pastures are concerned. If
the frostcontinues the crops of
legume hay will be somewhat re-
duced. All of the spring seeded
cereals have germinated very well
and although the growth; is slow
most of these crops were weal
rotated before the weather ;turned
cold.
Rain last weekend did a great
deal to promote growth in all
plants and was acc'iairnecl the snug
Ilion dollar rain by farmers in this
district. A reasonable dry Spring
has made it possible for tanne
With early pastures to turn some
of their livestock out for the sawn-

THIS PAST WINTER William Gossman, Dashwood, sent
some coal to his sister in Florida when they were experiencing
cold weather in the sunny south. He also sent her some dried
fruit, thinking everything in Florida was frozen. Last week
Bill was visiting his sister at Port Huron, and she returned the
coal to him, along with a coconut and turnip. Here he proudly
shows the gifts given him. (Staff Photo)
