ST. JOSEPH'S—DRYSDALE
(By Al. Fred Ducharme)
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Geoffrey and
Mrs. Ed. Corriveau motored to
London on Thursday last, on a
business trip.
Ivan Masse, Toronto, a land-
scaper, spent rbhe weekend in St.
Joseph, with lids parents.
Mr. and Miss, Jaok McKeown,
of the Toronto district, have mov-
ed! iota the house owned by Al-
phonse Masse, for 'the summer
months, Mr. McKeown is a road
engineer and will be close to his
work on this Highway.
next three months. However, they
di'ffey in their opinion; which will
it be; some claim a dry .first day
'of May means a wet summer. This
theory is upheld by the milk
maids of years gone by and ac-
cording to their version a dry fir -
sit of May was a wet summer and
poor returns from their cows.
This meant that cows on pasture
stood still and did not graze dur-
ing a chilly rain and from that
the Blow of milk was. ,great,ly re-
duced. Others claim a dry first
of May meant a period of no less
than three months of dry weath-
er, so there you have it.
"Which will: it be?"
