OBITUARY
Mrs. Hubert Bick
The former Jessie Nichoilson,
wife of wtlne late Hulbert Rick,
died in Bayfield on Saturday,
April 26. Born an Tuck'eu.'smitai
Township on April. 1, 1873, she
was in her 86th year.
Surviving .are four sons; WtiIlF-
ham McGee, 'Colborne, ant.; Pet-
er McGee, Deming, Washington;
Jahn 'McGee, Burnaby, B.C. and
Lloyd McGee, Wroxeter; two
daughters, Mars. Walter (Jessie)
Lane, Aggesaslz, B. 'C. and Mills
Genie McGee, Bayfield, with w1v-
,oin Mrs. Rick had been living.
The body rested at the West-
lake funeral home, Zurich, where
,the funeral services were held can
Tuesday, April. 29. Interment was
'in Bayfield cemetery, with the
Rev. Bad'enham, Bayfield, officiat-
ing.

Correction Please
Last week's; Corn Flake Squar-
es had ,one little item omitted; It
should have read:
1 cup brawn sugar
11 cup corn syrup
1 •oup sweet cream
Bail these three together until
soffit 'ball stage.

letting the three above mentioned
items came to a boil with the
result that •hie remainder of the
ingredients would not stiklc to-
gether.
RHUBARB acid BANANA PIE

Was and cut in 1/2 inch leng-
ths 3 cups rhubarb (do not peel).
Put a layer of rhubarb in ua bak-
edw .pantry shell, over this put one
•sal"aced banana and fill with rem-
aining rhubarb.
Mix together:
11/4 cups white sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 tablespoons minute ,tapioca
% cup sweet ,or sour cream
Pour this over •the filled pie,
sprinkle top nvith cinnamnon. Bake
for 7:.5 minutes in 450° oven, then
reduce heat to 325° for 25 to 30
minutes.
' A little hint here might prove
helpful; Edge .pastry with butter
or margarine to keep juice from
overflowing.
ANGEL PIE

Beat our egg whines until
frothy, add 1/4 teaspoon cream of
tartar, Beat until peaks form,
then, ibeait in one cup of white
sugar ,and camxbine .to beat until

1 cup white sugar
1 .oup 'brawn sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 cups flour mixed with 1 tea-
spoon soda and 1 teaspoon
baking powder
2 cups oatmesa
1 cup corn flakes
Drop by teaspoon on cookie
sheets, leaving a little space for
cookies to spread; bake in oven
between 350 to 375°. This recipe
.is a great favourite of mothers
with, families, since it is so eas-
ily made and it makes a barge
!amount of cookies.
