COME TO THE MEETING
On Thursday night the a11 -important public meeting which
will decide what the centennial funds are to be spent on will
be held in the Town Hall, Zurich. The general public are
urged to attend, and voice their opinions. The committee re-
quests everybody to be present by 8 o'clock, so the meeting
may get under way in time.
Since the announcement last week of this meeting many
suggestions have been brought c o this in that paper by
yntnterested
parties; in fact so many
start to print them all.
However, most of o the
andsons park. A good suggestion ve been based on the
we
same project, a in
heard would be the installation of lights in this proposed. park
The grounds could then be usedfor
softs d ll, justn sbowany
'
horseshoes, band concerts, programmes,
ut
thing else that would want to he held outside.
No matter what your idea is, at least come out to this
meeting and help to decide this important matter.
DO YOU HAVE A CHILD TRAP?
Do you have a discarded refrigerator or ice -box somewhere
on your property? Do you know anyone else who has one?
Then it would be good business to destroy it. At least make
sure the lock is brocken, or that the door is completely off. The
least you can do is to store it with the door against the wall.
Already this year two little boys have lost their lives in an
abandoned ice -box. Sure, it happened in Lachine,rQ h ueb here and
a long way from here. But it could happ g
Zurich.
The thing is, little children playing themselves can cover
by
quite a distance in a few seconds. Thought Ieyan that are dl rrs time
super-
vision of their parents, they can disappear.
they find a box with a lid, or a hinged door, it seems a natural
thing for them to get inside and pull the door
getshutout,. A thout
t
giving much thought to the way they plan to
often they are found too late.
Let's not give this particular type of child trap a chance to
work in our town.
WHY GIVE THE BURGLAR
AIN ENGRAVED INVITATION!
"You might as well give a burglar an engraved invitation to
help himself at your house, if you leave valuables lying about,"
says John Bannister, manager of the Bank of Montreal's Zurich
branch.
14•Ir. Bannister adds that behind the steel doors of a B of M
vault is the safest place for valuables such as bonds, leases, stock
certificates, insurance policies, deeds, birth certificates, passports
and other important family documents.
"It costs less than two cents a day to rent a B of M safety
deposit box," he says, . and explains that hundreds of thousands
of Canadians use B of M safety deposit facilities, an indication
of the popularity of this service. "It pays for itself again and
again in peace of mind alone," he says.
"Give the burglar a brush-off at your house," Mr. Bannister
advises. "Keep your valuables in your personalstrong box—it's
exclusively yours—in the Zurich B of M vault."
Drop in soon and see Mr. Bannister about renting a safety
deposit box . . . it will set your mind at rest.
