Beyond just the fun of growing they can be used at Thanksgiving for dec- oration, and at Hallowe'en for really unusual jack -o -lanterns. Even at Christmas time, the ones with the right shape can be cut and painted red for Christmas bells. In their native country they are used for dishes and dippers.
