Although the Flyers iced a club that

in action. Therefore the club could not have carried on were

Ivan Kalbfleisch and the rest of his executive, and a few interested
fans.
PEEWEES WIN FIRST ROUND
The Chamber of Commerce Peewees gained revenge for the
Flyers defeat by Ilderton by ousting the Ilderton Peewees 3-2 in
their first round in the Goderich Young Canada Week. Coaches
Gordon Block and Jack Bannister certainly had their team fired up
for the final period as the local lads overcame a 2-1 score, on two
goals by Wayne,

CANADIENS VS. BRUINS IN FINALS?
With the first week of Stanley Cup play over, it looks as if
the Boston Bruins will clash with the defending champion, Montreal
Canadiens, in the final. The Canadiens, who won the first three
games with the Red Wings will probably polish off the Detroit club
in four straight. Meanwhile, the Bruins, who lost their first con-
test to the Rangers, before coming back to win the next two, should

Baseball In The Wind
President, Ivan Kalbfleisch, and manager Tom Rawlings, have
been overheard recently discussing the baseball prospects for 1958.
This looks like a big year for baseball in Zurich.
Took In Detroit -Montreal Game
A carload of local hockey enthusiasts attended last Sunday
night's overtime thriller in Detroit. Highlights of the occasion were:
Kennedy's flukey goal for Detroit, the Bailey -Plante collision, a left
turn off Grand River, and of course Andre Pronovost's game winning
goal.
SHIFTS LOOK PROMISING
Reports from the Detroit Tiger training camp at Lakeland
Floriad show that Harvey Kuenn and Billy Martin are adjusting
themselves quite adequately to their new positions of centre -field
and short-stop, respectively. American League officials claim that
the Tigers will be the team to watch in the 1958 season. The
acquisition of Jim Hegan, Cleveland veteran, will definitely help to
settle the youthful but promising Tiger pitching staff of Bunning,
Lary, Hoeft and Foytack.
LUMPS FOR DESERT
Bobo Newsome was getting his lumps from the Athletics. The
score mounted rapidly and by the seventh inning, the A's showed a
15-0 lead. Bobo came back to the dugout wearing a disgusted look.
"What's eating you, Bobo?" asked a teamate.
"What do you think?" snarled the angry pitcher. "How can
a guy win any ball games if you don't give him any runs?"

Huron County Farm Forums
held their annual rally in the
South Huron District High School
Auditorium in Exeter, on Thurs-
day evening, with a fair attend-
ance. Mrs. Gordon Greig acted
as chairlady and the meeting op-
ened with the singing of "0 Can-

Each forum was asked to con-
tribute a number for the program
and to say the least Unique Farm
Forum did just that 1 ! ! The
ladies of the Unique forum decided
to contribute as their number—
a fashion parade, and after hur-
ried preparation at the home of
Herb Klopp, they carefully out-
itt^1 »'r models (being their
husbands) for the occasion. Ever-
ything from slumber wear to the
latest chemise and of course the
sack dress were included in the
fashions. We dare not forget the
lovely bride and her attendants.
Truly it was a grand array and
much credit is due to the men who
so graciously fashioned their an.
pares. Mrs. Delbert Geiger com-
mented very appropriately on each
fashion and the parade was well
apnlauded.
Other numbers on the program
included a one act play by the
South Huron Junior Farmers; ac-
cordian, piano, and harmonica sel-
ections and imnromotu speeches
by James Jacklin, Federation of
4riculture fieldman for Ontario
and Carl Hemingway, Huron
