Kenneth M. Breakey Celebrates 2Oth
.Anniversary In Electronics Work
Probably the only type of
'business to offer its kind of
service in this district is the
K. W. Breakey Electronics store.
Ken Breakey was born in
Manitoba, and received his pub-
lic school education in Brandon.
He attended the Zurich Contin-
uation
ontinuation School and then went to
National Electronics School in
Los Angeles, Florida.
During the war he spent three
years in Montreal, testing com-
munication equipment for armed
forces at the Canadian Marconi
Company.
In 1945 Ken returned to Zur-
ich and worked for Hess Radio
Electric firm here. In 1948 he
purchased the electronics end of
the business from Harry Hess,
and continued the business in
part of the building rented from
Mr. Hess. In 1957 Ken purchas-
ed the former Datars and
O'Brien hardware building,
where he is presently situated.
During his 20 years in the
electronics field, he has built and
designed numerous inter -com-
munication and public address
systems. He also designed some
special types of power transform-
ers, Ken has installed the P.A.
stystem in the local arena, as
well as having installed the
inter -communication system in
Kaillbfleisch mills. While he
would like to spend more time
on this end of the business, Ken
finds running an efficient TV
service department takes up the
greater part of his time.
Due to a tremendous interest
in hunting and fishing, Ken de-
cided to add a line of sporting
goods and hobby craft to his
business. He has all types of
fishing equipment, a wide range
of guns and ammunition, as well
as a good supply of hobby craft
equipment. In the television end
of the business, he carries all
popular lines of sets, and is fully
qualified in the servicing of the
same. In the very near future
Ken will " have Duward Mc-
Adams, Zurich, working with
him in the electronics depart-
ment. At present Duward is
taking a course in this field.
Ken's favorite hobby is hunt-
ing and fishing. Each year he
goes to Eagle Lake, in Northern
Ontario, on a trip.

or flying saucers as science -fict-
ion addicts.
Sad part of it is that, while he
was writing that iconoclastic col-
umn, a little man in a flying sau-
cer two miles above him was pro -
badly reading it through the roof,
with his super -sonic vision, and
marking brother Tumpane down as
one of the first to be purged, when
they finally decide they can't stand
the foolishness of the earthlings
any longer, and land.

Personally, I have never seen
a flying saucer. But then I have
never met the devil in person, nor
have I been present when a mir-
acle took place. Which does not
give me the feeling that I should
belabour with epithets like "crack-
pot" anyone who has experienced
such manifestations.
As constant readers of this col-
umn know, I never prevaricate nor
exaggerate. As they also know, I
had a bad scare one night this
winter. A small, naked fellow, all
green, with something mightily re-
sembling a stalk of celery growing
out of his navel, suddenly appear-
ed in my livingroorn. After a bit-
ter denuciation of our society, he
vanished.
I don't say he came in a flying
saucer. But I was up on the roof
the other day, to see why it was
leaking. I found out. There was a
big burn on the shingles, right
through in spots. About 12 feet
across, it was, and in a circle,

I'll be glad to show it to you,
Mr. Tumpane. All you have to do
is reapeat the password. This week
it's "New fissures 'on the moon."
You've got to have faith, Frank,
my boy. You'll never catch a fish
in your septic tank, unless you
give it a try. And definitely, you'll
never see a flying saucer with your
head buried in the sand.
