Ilderton Defeats
Local Flyers 11-9
In Overtime Game
After leading all through the
game, the Zurich Flyers were ed-
ged out in overtime by the Ilder-
ton Wildcats 11-9, and lost their
best -of -five series for the Home-
brew group title, 3 games to 1.
However since Zurich is an inter-
mediate "C" team, and Ilderton
an intermediate "D" team, they
will both advance in the WOAA
playdowns.

overtime period, only to have the

Smelt Should Be R.nnning In April.
Mere Are Some New Regulations
A month or so and the smelts
should be running. Again this
year Ontario residents may take
smelt in dip -net up to six feet
by six feet without a license dur-
ing March, April and May, at any
time of day or night, under a
change in fisheries regulations•
made last year. Previously, a $1
licence was required for dip -nets
of more than three feet.
A resident may use a seine -net
up to 30 feet. by six feet to take
smelt under the authority of a

for personal use". This licence is

fered severe head pains.
a fee of $1. The licence permits
the .possession and use of one net.
Several helpers may accompany
the licensee and assist in his op-
eration of the net.
The helpers, if residents of Ont-
ario, do not necessarily require
licences to assist in the netting
since they are not in possession
of the net, according to 1958 reg-
ulations just announced by Lands
and Forst Minister the Hon. Clare
E. Ma+pledoraTn,
A non-resident may take smelt
under the authority of a "Non-
resident's Licence to take smelts
for personal use", This licence is
available from licence issuers at
a fee of $5. This licence permits
the taking •of smelt by means of
a dip -net or a seine -net and it
is necessary for each non-resident
who assists in the fishing to be in
possession of the non-resident lic-
ence to take smelts.

In the past few years the Zurich
troop has been malting great ad-
vancements. For instance, in the
year 1956, Ken Weido land myself
were awarded the Qeen Scout
Badge, .on certificate 'byy the Hon-
ourable Louis O. Breithaupt, L.L.D.
This badge isthe highest award
you can reach in the Boy Scouts.
This was a great honour for the
troop. The same year in May,
the district held a camporee. The
first Zurich troop sent up three
patrols, and we came home with
first, second and third honours.
This, by itself, was a great honour
to receive, but the important th-
ing was that we were well prep-
ared and that we worked together.
Last Saturday a group of Scouts
worked together by collecting pap-
ers. This was an all day job,
but by working together we made
it worthwhile. We collected, to
my estimation, two tons of paper.
Keep up the good work, boys,
and together we will go places in
Scouting. There will be another
paper drive this Friday afternoon,
starting at four o'clock, Have pap-
ers out an the sidewalk, tied in
small bundles, and the Scouts will
pick them up.
Until we see you again ,this
is your Scout master, saying,
"Good Scouting."
